ammar khan: Gym staff refused to honor the Active & Fit trial pass offer and were rude in their response. They claimed—incorrectly—that I had previously worked out there for free, when in fact I had only done two brief walk-throughs while deciding between gyms. They also refused to provide the contact information for the manager they said instructed them not to honor the trial, and actively blocked me from speaking with the manager directly. After this experience , I used an Active & Fit trial at another gym, and immediately after my workout there, I signed up as a member. This kind of unwelcoming behavior is a sure way to turn off a potential customer. I had been a loyal LA Fitness member for 13 years before moving too far from one. I do not want the response here on Google from Planet Fitness to simply say ā€˜speak to management’—the staff themselves prevented that from happening.
Chaparral Fitness - Glen Ellyn
Hussain Ali: If you go in the summer, this place looks like the geriatrics wing of a hospital. The equipment is nice but deadlifting heavy will make the manager mad and hell whine at you. Not many people go here since most COD students dont believe in hard work, so its a great place to lift if COVID ever ends.
CrossFit Glen Ellyn - Glen Ellyn
Karmen Harris: This gym community is really great. The coaches are very knowledgable about fitness, but also nutrition and healthy habits. The workouts are thoughtfully written to help with progress and skill. Always, there are options to make each workout perfect for your fitness level. At 56 years old, I care more about movement, strength training and longevity than being the strongest one at the gym. The competition and camaraderie, however, is delightful and pushes me to do more than I thought I ever could.
Prototype Fitness - Warrenville
Michael Nutall: Joe & Josh are amazing, I am new to the gym, but the whole process from the first call to my first session was great. Joe was super patient & informative, and I could tell right away he cared about my fitness goals. The onboarding process has been amazing, Josh has been doing an amazing job running the small group training program! The work out has been challenging in a great way, but they put you in position to succeed. Great business, but even better people!
Revolution Health & Fitness - Lombard
N S: This gym sets the gold standard. Whether you’re a hobbyist, weekend warrior, or professional athlete, this facility has everything you need—and more. The equipment is state-of-the-art, the recovery and health services are top-tier, and the environment is second to none. What really stands out is how impeccably clean and well-managed everything is, every single day. It’s clear the staff takes pride in running a world-class operation. I’m genuinely grateful to be part of a place that’s this dedicated to excellence. Highly recommend.
Yoga by Degrees - Wheaton
Vivian R: Good first experience here. Looked up class times the day before and went in the next day to sign up. Simple process which takes 10 minutes of providing basic info and signing a waiver. I did get a free 2 week trial , and a free rental for a yoga mat for my first class. They provide yoga blocks and blankets to use during the class, of course you can bring your own too. Theres locker rooms with showers, bathrooms, blow dryers. Theres a complimentary toiletries basket you can use too , hair spray, lotion ect. They sell Mats here as well as yoga clothes and other cute trinkets like beaded bracelets and necklaces. I did the restorative class and it was very nice and slow paced, holding poses for a few minutes. I did not find any particular pose to be too difficult that I couldnt even attempt it. Some do test your mobility and flexibility but that part of the point ! Very dimly lit, very calming mediation music. I found the instructor to be very good and clearly explained/described our next pose so it was easy to follow along. You get a nice cold rag at the end thats been infused with lavender and peppermint essential oil.
Esplanade Fitness Center - Downers Grove
Ademi Bolat: I got sexually assaulted in the Women’s locker room by the male front desk of the gym. I come here every weekend, now used to.. I cannot believe how I got treated for being late for 13min!It happened on Sunday, at 12pm with something min they shut the lights off. The guy knocked the door &opened right away. He stood up there for couple minutes while I was almost naked & repeated the same stuff after another minute. After when I came out to hall, he tried to scold me for lateness. I told him how inappropriate he was, while knowing there is girl inside dressing up. I cannot describe how bad & unfaithful the man was towards me. He asked my name ā€œto write a reportā€on me for being late… I have never experienced this in my life and never wish for other people. The fitness itself has the best equipments and hygiene, but the people hired there are the wrong people representing this place.

o edgar: The manager and staff are no help at all. I’m a premium member and couldn’t even figure a simple solution to get my account fixed. I like trying different gyms with my membership and so far this one has been the worst one. I drove 40 minutes and couldn’t even go in, they told me to talk to corporate. I asked if I could get a day pass so I could fix it in my free time and he said no rudely, power trip at its finest. Drove down 20 minutes to a different location and got it solved in 2 minutes. I’m paying for my account, plus they had recently charged my yearly fee and I couldn’t get in? Ridiculous.
Orangetheory Fitness - Glen Ellyn
Mounika Vasamsetty: OTF Glen Ellyn my life changer, I spotted this place right in time after four long years of break from sports and my fitness journey. From being a self trained athlete to becoming an over weight 27yr old. I felt under confident with my weight gain and unhealthy. When I first entered the studio. I had a very warm welcome from coach Katie and Zach from the front desk. I was never a gym person before but the atmosphere pushed me to give it a try. Ever since I started I never looked back, always came back home feeling stronger physically and mentally, my workout pace and endurance has highly improved with every session. I so far trained with almost all the coaches ( Katie, Ellen, Angela, Abby, Matt) had a great experience with each one of them, everyone were highly knowledgeable, super supportive, has their own unique style of training. Its hard to pick favorites but Coach Katie, Ellen and Abby have constantly ensured if am doing okay and guided me from the very beginning. Little did I know that my journey would only last for two months due to career transition. Today after completing my day four of hell week session which is my last session here I felt a sense of void that’s because I’ll miss OTF glen ellyn a lot. But I’ve made my mind to be with team orange wherever I go and continue to grow. To all the folks in Glen Ellyn area who are looking forward to start your fitness journey I would highly recommend to try this place out and feel the difference in you its worth every penny you invest in if you’re hard wired to stick in this transformation journey !!!!!
