1 /5 Brian Holdman: Honestly they shouldnt even be called lawyers. They are scam artists. So right off the bat its 125 just for a consultation. During the consultation they make all sorts of claims of how easy it would be to win your case, then talk you into signing up. So initially its a 2500 retainer or 1000 if you use the autopay. Then there is the 300 AFTER you sign up for the autopay, this is apparently for gas and stamps. Yeah, they kind of skip this when they go over the methods of payment. So in my instance, I went the 1000...I mean 1300 route. When I finally talked to my lawyer...not the one they initially gave, but the one that happened to be on leave, we chatted on the phone regarding the case, as you normally would. Well then came "well I dont think you can do anything, but let me talk to other lawyers". Keep in mind they have this whole "we will take care of you" and "fathers rights" bs posted all over their Facebook page. So I decided that wasnt the route I wanted to take. When asked for my money back, since NO work had been done, I was told that I could only get $695 back out of the total of 1425 spent on their garbage of a firm. Also that apparently takes two to three weeks to process, knowing I only have 30 days to do my paperwork. Krista Jones-May was the one they had me with. Keep in mind she was a social worker before being a lawyer, so chances are she is one of those men-bad-women-victim type people, so if you are looking for anyone at all to represent you in a case, you would probably do better hiring someone that lives in a McDonalds parking lot.
