    Amanda Peretich: Absolutely amazing drop-in experience with Coach Joe at the 5:30A class! From walking in the doors to leaving (right on time), his positive personality was shining and added to the great class! He demonstrated movements, cued and corrected, interacted with everyone, gave feedback (both positive and improvements), had everyone introduce themselves, and so much more. I’ve dropped in to over 75 different boxes during my years of doing CrossFit, and this was an exceptional place for all levels and ages. Highly recommend for drop-ins and folks looking for a new CrossFit home.

The coaches are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and keeping their members safe. And the members were always very welcoming! I love the training programming and variety! The machines are well-maintained and offer a variety of workout options. The owner is very involved and always looking for ways to improve the gym. This place simply has everything you need to reach your fitness goals!

    Brandi Lewis: I signed up for the 8-week womens Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu course at Gracie Barra Champaign and Ive ALREADY BENEFITED SO MUCH from just one class! I can now get myself out from underneath somebody, to on top of them, and then *away*... 2 hours ago I could not. That one maneuver hit harder than anything (though I learned quite a lot more in the same class). I immediately demonstrated it to my husband once I got home and was able to do it successfully on my first attempt, how impressive! Details which I loved about my first class: I was paired with another woman similar to my size and I practiced with the same partner throughout the entire session which reduced many of my anxieties about getting started. The instructors were focused on everybodys safety and remained ever aware of each individuals comfort level. Their instructions were clear, easy to follow, and made sense. I felt safe the entire time and was constantly encouraged to ask questions, I was never made to feel unintelligent, uncomfortable, or triggered. That was monumental as I am an absolute beginner, easily intimidated, and female. Overall, this gym has a very inclusive and welcoming vibe from the moment you walk through the door and everybody seemed to enjoy being there. Their commitment to teamwork and maintaining a safe space was so evident in their etiquette toward one another as well as toward the individuals they were instructing, everybody had fun. Icing on the cake: between classes it was incredibly inspiring for me to actually SEE another woman rolling on the mat with a much larger man, and *completely* holding her own. I happy-cried about it on my drive home, Ill definitely be sticking around after these 8 weeks are over -- I am so excited for this new burst of empowerment and am looking forward to learning and building more confidence, thank you GB Champaign!!!

    Emily Laudenslager: I moved to Illinois last winter and joined the boxing gym in order to finally cross it off my bucket list. The coaches are great, Jess knows everyones name (even after a 5 month hiatus, she remembered who I was) and she is a great communicator and encourager. The class is tough but fun- a great cardio experience and learning the basics of boxing.

    Diane Baker: This special studio is one of a kind! I played sports and ran my whole life but as I got older I needed to find a different activity to stay fit. I began Pilates with Elizabeth and her staff in 2011 and it changed my life! With their help I strengthened my core and found muscles that I didn’t even know that I had! I was taking twice weekly for 5 years and while I no longer live in Champaign whenever i return I make sure to book appointments with Elizabeth and her staff. They are fabulous!

    Carol Baker: I have been working out with Travis for almost 5 years. The first thing he asks at the beginning of each workout is how my body is feeling today. If I have any trouble spots or aches he will work on those first. I feel I have avoided doctor visits because Travis fixes my aches through my workout. He has cured or improved my plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel and other issues through specific exercises. He never repeats workouts and always keeps things interesting! Even though we may repeat exercises, he always takes the time to demonstrate first to make sure they are done correctly. I have improved my balance, core strength and muscle tone since working out with Travis. He is flexible with rescheduling when things come up. His gym provides many different types of weight equipment, resistance bands and other gadgets to work every part of your body. Again, the workout is ever-changing and never gets dull! And he’s always adding new tools to help his clients. If you are considering a personal trainer, I highly recommend Travis Davis. It’s hard to not show up when you are scheduled with a trainer as opposed to going to a gym on your own. He is very knowledgeable and professional. You won’t be disappointed!
