1 /5 Taylor Huey: I wasnt able to ever talk to anyone, because though I called several times trying to get ahold of a telephone counselor, I couldnt get through. This, and after driving an hour to the Woodstock office based on a referral who literally spoke to someone there and was told to tell me to go in for an intake meeting to get legal help with them, I showed up, was told regardless of my referral, they currently have no attorneys taking cases and was given their 1-800 number, and then once again never got through. Unbelievable.

5 /5 Jason Jockomo Cares: I think its safe to say, no one here is getting rich quick. These kind people give more than most can appreciate or understand. Ive seen some negative reviews here where some people clearly dont understand the process or protocol to receive their help. And even following those protocols doesnt guarantee you will get exactly what youd hoped for, most commonly because they have an already full plate. You just cant take this personally. Ive been approved for assistance and Ive been denied assistance with nothing more than timing for the reason. Everyone at PSLS is there because they care and want to help people get the best quality representation possible. Again, Im certain no one here is doing this because theyre getting paid their full worth/value. Im not seeing Lamborghinis and Bentleys in the parking lot. This is not a fair world and Im sure these kind giving people are left heartbroken more often than one might think/believe over having to say they cannot help someone do to a full plate. If they take too many cases then theyd risk giving the cases they already have weak representation. I know personally they want you to receive their absolute best. And thats good enough for me and it should be everything youd expect too. So, before you give a negative review, appreciate their position. Appreciate they are people too who could be serving themselves by working somewhere with greater pay. But they are here doing what they can to truly make a difference for those unable to defend themselves. The world needs more people like them so please dont disparage their kindest of efforts.

1 /5 Kayaking Tab Silva: My brother suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. I walked in for legal assistance the first time for SSI help and they told me to get denied 3 times and then they would help my brother. I got handed a brochure. Then I walked into the office a 2nd time to ask for legal assistance because my brother has been in the hospital every single year for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. I asked for some direction or assistance to get guardianship or some medical power of attorney. The secretary when short curly hair said sorry we cant help you heres a brochure again. I replied I dont think you guys care about Young American males. The Discrimination that happens to men is absolutely disgusting. Im sure if you were female and pregnant he would get money and assistance. I said maam you do not care. The front desk said yes we do care ....she goes but my boss needs me and I have to walk away now and close the glass door on my face. I literally received 30 seconds of her time. I was literally crying in front of her. Clearly she does not know what its like to have her family member in the hospital with paranoid schizophrenia. No one has ever reached out to us. Prairie State Legal I believe is only for women and children. There is no legal assistance for anybody in McHenry County that suffers with a mental disability. With no help I literally went in front of a judge myself. They turned me away and ripped me a new one. Are we wanted to do was help our loved one and so far my brother has been threatened to be arrested if he doesnt show up to court and I was threatened to get sued for fees even though they were waived. So weve pretty much given up. I find it hard to believe the only way you can get assistance as if your family spends thousands of dollars. Clearly the mentally ill does not have access to unlimited funds. And we wonder why there are shootings and people wandering the streets homeless. Or even these opioid epidemics. I highly do not recommend coming here unless you want to feel like the bottom of somebody shoe. Definitely there is some discrimination and racial profiling going on here, beware!
