5 /5 Esmirna Garcia: I hate to admit it, but I was wrong.
All my life I used to say, you do not need a gym membership. You need to have a physical, plentiful, active lifestyle and youll be fine. What I really was saying was, I dont know how to work out and I need help to navigate all the weird gym equipment, sort out all those myths in my head and bring forth more reasonable, realistic goals that, not only fit my lifestyle, but are proactive in the mental game of gains; when it comes to setting aside time for working out and feeling accomplished with favorable results.
Joel was like a divine sent; placed in that gap for me to awaken to the reality and to feel energized to do this new thing called taking care of myself by demystifying the working out aspect of it and showing me how good it is to shift gears mentally and enjoy a delicious drink of health and wellness in my life.
So, this how it happened. I took advantage of a promo and went in to check it out. Then, I scheduled a personal training session with Joel.
Since, Ive been converted to adult and sober thoughts. I now think weights are cool and feeling healthy is achievable. I know that all those false ideas were thoughts of a defeatist that feared trying something and being doomed to failure. But in all fairness, I also didnt have the superfluous goals I associated with working out like losing weight and looking great, but I guess that was also within the defeatist mentality.
Look, you could find value in gym or not, but when you are more knowledgeable you can choose whats best for you. This experience of taking personal training sessions has inspired just that; reevaluate and re-educate myself on what it means for me to be healthy. Thank you, Joel.
