Steve Dover Pastor Rick is very knowledgeable in the truth. If you ask him a question, you will receive a truthful answer. His demeanor is calm, humble and assertive. The church considers itself non-religious; however, there is singing accompanied by piano, communion services, and adult baptisms where the saved are completely submerged in water. Members or this church are very friendly, and there are frequent gatherings outside of church. If stop in to witness a service, its probably a good idea to bring some cash for the collection plate. This way, you wont feel like a cheap ass for not realizing currency other than card swipes are still used.

Nicole C First Baptist Church of Geneva is unlike any church I have been to. I havent always had the best experiences, but this church makes you feel welcome and like family from your first visit. Theyre always finding ways for you to feel more involved and more comfortable, and I have never been closer to God and had a better community of loving people than I do with FBCG. Besides their ability to make you feel like a part of the church right away, their messages are gospel based, easy to follow and understand, and are delivered in a way that makes you feel connected to the staff and the message. I particularly like Pastor Jeff Fraziers sermons and his way of explaining things - he really speaks to me and helps me understand. The only improvement I could see would be more spiritual and time investment in the worship/music. I can see that the talent and resources are there, but they just seem improperly placed or used. Music and worship is SO important for people to truly feel like the holy spirit is within them, and I hope this church finds a way to help this part of worship grow and improve.

Bruce ONeal 5 Stars After losing my wife Kim unexpectedly three years ago, I was searching for more than just a place to go on Sundays—I was searching for healing, hope, and the presence of the Lord. We have been going to Willow Creek Church off and on, but when my sister-in-law Rita invited me to The Well in Geneva, I felt something I hadn’t in a long time: peace. From the very first time I walked through the doors, I was welcomed with open arms. The warmth, the authenticity, and the presence of God in that place are undeniable. My brother-in-law Keith is on the worship team, and watching him use his gift for God adds a personal touch every week. Pastor Jerry is a blessing. His teaching is deeply rooted in Scripture, but also full of real-life wisdom and love. His wife Carrie sings on the worship team—her voice reminds me of Amy Grant, maybe even a little better. Her singing touches the soul. What truly amazes me is the worship itself. A few of the singers on the team could easily be gold-record artists, but they’ve chosen to pour out their talents right here for the glory of God. That kind of humility and heart is rare—and it brings tears to my eyes. Pastor Shannon also speaks with such passion and purpose, especially to the younger generation. It’s clear that this church is planting seeds of faith in all ages. The Well Church has not only been a place of worship for me—it’s been a sanctuary. A place where I’ve felt God’s presence so clearly. A place that helped me through grief. A place that gave me family in my deepest sorrow. Rita, my sister-in-law, has walked with me in grief counseling and faith, and The Well has been her hands and feet. I now look forward to every Sunday. It’s close to home, but more than that—it feels like home. If you’re hurting, searching, or simply looking for a place where God’s love pours out freely, come to The Well. It may just change your life like it did mine.

Sarah Anderson I am deeply disappointed that Chapelstreet Church has removed my review, so I am posting this again as I believe this deserves to be public knowledge. I want to emphasize, as I did before, that this is for the purposes of informing people only. I feel as though many people believe that this church is more progressive than they actually are, and I worry about parents who send their children to this church who may not know exactly what their children are being taught. If you are someone who does not find what I have to say problematic, then I am happy that you can find a church you agree with! For everyone else, I hope this informs your decision to attend this church (or not). I grew up in this church and have since left. Chapelstreet Church does not allow women to become pastors for the sole reason that they are women, despite never making a public statement about it or even telling the women in leadership that pastoring is not a possibility for them. They teach a complementarian view of the roles of women in the church, instead of an egalitarian view. This means that although they say that women are equally valued, they believe that the primary role of women is to assist men. You are to be a ‘sidekick’ to the ‘hero’. When I was growing up in this church, this idea was heavily reinforced. This church values purity significantly, and although there is no dress code for attending, I was removed from a high school service for wearing a tank top. I was told that my clothing was leading men to sin. Disapproving comments from church leaders about my body and clothing was commonplace when I was a child and young teenager. Additionally, for pool events with the church, women are required to wear at minimum a one-piece bathing suit, while the men do not have a dress code. The responsibility to prevent men from sexual sin is largely put on women and young girls. I do not have any issue with a church holding these beliefs, but I take great issue with the fact that they do not make these beliefs public. To my knowledge, they have never made a public statement on their view that women cannot be pastors, and they have never stated that they preach complementarianism to young boys and girls. Again, I am deeply disappointed that they chose to remove my review moments after it was put up, instead of addressing their issues with me or the church body. I hope that this may inform parents and individuals on their decision to attend or not attend this church.

Awesome, inspiring, in touch with what we need. 2. The people work to make the church a place to center your life around or just a part of the journey if you want. 3. The chapel 4. The teachings are a good blend of traditional and current thought. 5. The integration into the community. I hope you will church shop St. Marks if you are looking. We would be happy to talk to you and see if this is a new home for you. Families - The youth program is very good. She never prayed for me, she just told me to ask God for "the next part", which wasnt any help to me at all, its been making me cry more if anything. My question was answered though, wondering if God hears me... He cant, he doesnt even exist, he would have had her pray for me like i so desperatly needed.

Katie Stearns Valleybrook is a welcoming, gospel-centered church where the whole family belongs. Pastor Brian is very approachable and truly wants to help others understand the gospel and grow in their walk with the Lord. The music is a good mix of contemporary and traditional styles.
5 /5
Keith Dwyer I dont know if Valleybrook has changed but I went here as a kid. Those people did not preach about God. They use a doctrine of fear and isolation. I was forced to stay in Sunday school instead of being with my parents. I wasnt allowed to leave the room to go to the bathroom! Then when I got a bit older I was moved to the basement classrooms which were sterile white with a lack of care for the children . If I wasnt learning a warped doctrine of the Word, I was being forced to watch "Bibleman". The final nail in the coffin though. My family eventually left when the pastors wife at the time had teenagers go on stage and EAT LIVE GOLDFISH. So, all that to say, this church is/was just shy of a cult. It pulls/pulled people in with promises of God and warps/warped His doctrine of love and acceptance. Oh, also they share/shared the building with a 7th Day Adventist church, which to those unaware, also focus on a doctrine of fear. This group focusing on endtimes. This was around 2001-2004, so things hopefully have changed in 20 years but this church is responsible for my leaving of the Church as a whole (I still follow the doctrine of Jesus Christ though).
