Cracker Barrel Old Country Store - Mt Vernon (IL)

5 /5 Clarissa Dagg: Tonight was our first visit to this cracker barrel. We had a lovely experience! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. She offered, advice on favorites from the menu and suggested a few of her favorites. Our food came out hot and perfectly cooked. We both ordered fried chicken (home style and chicken fried chicken). The portions were much more than we expected for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The store was clean and well stocked. As busy as they were tonight we did not have a wait time which was nice. We will definitely be going back!

3 /5 Gene Fisher: My wife and I love the atmosphere at Cracker Barrel. We enjoy the fireplace, gift shop and decor. The server was exceptional. She spent some time talking with us and checked on us 3 times during the visit. She offered us to-go cups of coffee knowing we had a long drive ahead of us that morning. We love Cracker Barrel but the food continues to get worse. Almost tastes frozen and processed over the last 2-3 years. The cheesy hash browns used to be our favorite, but now they are lukewarm hard and tasteless. The sausage had been pulled from a freezer and microwaved. My suggestion to Cracker Barrel is “Go back to restaurant basics and increase your food quality.

5 /5 Donna Graves: We got the campfire meals and they were amazing! The service was great but the checkout line was really long. Not sure why they didnt open the 2nd register but at least the other customers were friendly about the length of time we all had to wait at the end of our meals

3 /5 S D: Our food was flavorless and just plain. Worst cornbread Ive ever had as well. The restaurant wasnt busy but yet they kept seating people right next to us and I couldnt scoot my seat out because the 2 different guests behind me chair was already touching my chair. Waited for 10 mins to give our order, another 10 to get our waters, 30 minutes on food, and over 30 minutes to get the checks n Togo order which was just a burger n fries. On a good note it cost less than $40 for 2 people to eat.

5 /5 kaboose gaming: The staff is nice and friendly and willing to you suggestions if you need some. Classics are offered here that people are quite used to and they have something for kids. Its a good experience I only come once in a while but this time it was great.
