5 /5 Andrew Erbes: 1. Just for clarification this is the name of the restaurant, but it has moved and is in the location of Main Street Eats and Treats.
2. Now that that is out-of-the-way, I’ll proceed with my review!
My wife and I were traveling to Rockford on our way home to Murphysboro from Galena when we both decided we were hungry. I remembered that we were coming up on Lena and decided we would check out the food options at lunchtime. Checked out the menu and figured this was the best option in town. We were not let down. The food was very good. My wife said the croissant for her chicken salad sandwich was not super fresh but she really just wanted the chicken salad so she set the croissant aside and it was no big deal. My club sandwich was delightful. The atmosphere is no frills, but clean and pleasant. Service was quick - our waitress whose name I did not get, but was wearing a UW Platteville t-shirt, was super sweet, and welcoming. She made sure we had everything that we needed. We were there pretty close to their closing time (2), but they did not make us feel rushed at all. The other girls working were very nice also. When we were checking out, we made pleasant conversation about a girl I met from Lena who ran for Miss Illinois this year, which I judged, and whom they all knew. It’s nice to make those connections. Prices were very reasonable, and I would definitely go back, and will be recommending it to my family and friends in the Rockford area, especially those who travel back-and-forth to Jo Daviess County.
