Grüv is in the same building as the old Wine Tap and benefits from a charming historic downtown Belleville building with exposed brick, unique features, a peek into a spooky old basement, and a brick pizza oven. The patio is my favorite feature of the joint and Im excited to return in the summer to soak in some rays with friends and cocktails.
I made my first visit on a Wednesday night after dinner with a few friends. We arrived later in the evening and saw the crowd dwindle out. The patio is covered (early April) and glowing outdoor heaters are spaced out. We had a table right beside the brick oven pizza and watched the coals burn out while we sipped on our martinis.
They offer specials throughout the week, so we enjoyed buy-one-get-one half-off martinis and ordered a flatbread margherita pizza to share. The pizza wasnt special, but it filled our bellies. The drinks were well-made, unique, and delicious.
