3 /5 Susan habbal: I was so excited to try Hearth. I have heard so many wonderful comments. Well, honestly I was so disappointed.
First let me mention the good things. The service was Amazing. Our server was honestly the best in Peoria so far. The ambience was nice and comfortable.
Now the important part the food. I honestly feel like our food was deliberately made poorly because, based on what I have heard Hearth is supposed to be the best restaurant in Peoria, also, there is a Chef and there is no real chef that would allow the food we received to leave the kitchen.
The best part of the meal was the raw oysters, which is hard to mess up since they are raw on the half shell.
The steaks my mom and I ordered was not made properly, they were so badly done I was barely able to cut it. It was so hard I could not chew mine. My mom got the ribeye and her was harder than mine. It was so hard she has to spit hers out because she could not chew it.
I had a side of Mash, well, there was so much salt which made it uneatable. This is why I think this had to be deliberately done because no one else made any problems or complaints. Chefs taste before plating and the fact that our food was served to us the way it was speaks loud and clear. We are not important enough to deserve good food. This honestly was a slap in the face. $220 meal that we would not eat. Honestly sad. It is ok the service was Amazing!! I generally go to Chicago and the suburbs for good fine dining places. I was hoping this would be our new spot. Oh well!!
