Poor Boy Too - Kankakee (IL)

4 /5 Ben Horeluk: Typically food is good. But i deciced to try the poorest sandwich Ive ever seen. Literally a SADwhich. I ordered a poorboy, not a long unseasoned pickle burger on tough, dry bread. Gordon Ramsey would have said something like "theyve lost their love". The sandwich named after the restaurant should be the flagship item.

1 /5 Kirk Anderson: Ordered the gyro sandwich, wasn’t happy with the product. Feel like they have switched purveyors or quality of product My gyro tasted like it was fake meat , maybe a soy based version. No way , I won’t be back

4 /5 David Stejkowski: You don’t have to be poor to eat here. The owners have one restaurant on each side of Kankakee. This is the one we frequent. The food is good, the owners know us and the service is always consistently excellent at the counter. This is a former Hardee’s and it spotlessly clean on the inside. If you want fast food, this is an excellent alternative to the national chains. The gyros are very good, and the beef sandwich is as good as you’ll get in the area. I only wish the inside were open later than 8 o’clock given our busy schedules.
