5 /5 Michael Leddy: My wife and I have been eating Thai food (in the U.S.), individually and as a couple, since the 1980s. Our first date (in 1984) was at a Thai restaurant in Boston. So I think it means something when I say Siam Thai is the best Thai food weve ever had. Weve been regulars at the restaurant, at least once a week, since 2016. The food never gets old. And the portions are huge. A bowl of green curry for instance is not a few bits and pieces that you need to hunt for in a sea of green. Its a bowl teeming with vegetables and chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, or tofu.
Any dish here is a recommended dish, and Mao is very helpful in guiding newcomers. And she seems to know the spice level of every regular, from no spice to 5. (We are level 3.)
Siam Thai is really a treasure — one of the things that makes Charleston a town worth living in. Go!
