Taqueria San José - Monmouth (IL)

4 /5 Corey Brown: Service was fast and friendly. The tortillas they use on the street tacos were really good. The pastor was tender and flavorful, the lingua was tender and moist just could of had a bit more flavor. I would say they were average. The Barria was dry and lacking. The chips where warm and fresh thin crispy and the salsa was good and fresh. The hot sauce they brought to pair with the street tacos had a bitterness to it and not much heat. I was not a fan.

4 /5 Cadence Giddings: On our visit we had friendly and attentive staff, and very quick service, even during lunchtime! The cheese dip and salsa are very good. Everything else we ordered tasted great and was perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend trying Taqueria San José!

5 /5 Kerry Coyne: Went here to celebrate my sons 21st birthday so he could order his first drink. The waiter messed with him a little and it was funny. Then they brought the food. It was all very good. They did a great job of keeping our drinks full. Then they came out with a large sombrero and sang to him. It was a great dinner.

The food is absolutely amazing, the chips and salsa are amazing, and the service and ambiance was great. The employees really put customers first. Amazing overall! I got the chicken San Jose burrito, my husband got the molcajete!

5 /5 Estefane Hopkins: I absolutely love this Taqueria/restaurant! It is my go-to place when I want mexican. The employees are all very friendly and make you feel so welcomed. I usually order something different every time and have never been disappointed.
