5 /5 Kristen Deuter: I want to preface this by saying I was really hungry and forgot to take pictures :(
My husband and I had heard about this place from a customer at another bbq place we frequent often and decided to make the 50 min drive to try it. First, know that they don’t serve alcohol anymore. This didn’t bother us because we were there for the food, but I know some folks would want a drink with their bbq.
We tried the potato skins with the brisket on it. Delicious. Brisket had a great taste but was a little on the dry side.
For dinner, my husband got the 1/2 white meat fried chicken and the baked beans and green beans. We both agreed it was the best fried chicken we’d had in a REALLY long time. Not greasy, crispy, just the right amount of breading and the chicken was moist and flavorful.
I had the 3 meat sampler and chose the ribs, smoked meatloaf and brisket. First of all, I ordered the meatloaf because it intrigued me and I’m so glad I did. It was AWESOME. And this is from someone who really doesn’t like meatloaf. Ribs were tender and had a great flavor. I’m not a brisket fan personally but my husband said it was really good too. You MUST try both sides I got; the Mac and cheese and ESPECIALLY the fried potato salad.
Lastly, the staff is great there. I think one of the owners was the hostess, extremely nice and chatty. Our server, Brie, was such a sweetheart and very good at her job. Great at giving recommendations to the newbies.
Personally, we thought the price was extremely reasonable for what we got. Will definitely be back!
