Village Garden Family Restaurant - Salem (IL)

5 /5 live offthegrid: After being very disappointed at another restaurant, we decided to go to the Village Garden Family. The menu has a large selection and the portions are good sized. Oh boy was the salad bar fantastic. I loved it. Our food was not only delicious, but absolutely fantastic. Would we recommend this restaurant? ABSOLUTELY! We will come back, no doubt about it.

4 /5 Percella Snyder: Came on a Sunday afternoon. It was packed but we were seated immediately. The vibe is giving a little visiting grandma’s and a little cafeteria, but it’s not uncomfortable. Our waitress Amy was fantastic. Prices are very reasonable. There’s a salad bar and soup comes with many of the meals. We had the veg beef soup and it was delicious. I ordered the Julienne salad and my husband got a burger. The salad was enormous! We peeked across the room and the fried chicken looked like it was probably good too lol the menu is loaded with lots of options. The only criticism I may have is that the ranch dressing seemed watered down. Salad dressings are hit or miss in restaurants anyway so if we ever stop again I’ll just try the Grecian salad.

5 /5 dave moses: My server, Amelia, was very attentive and did an amazing job. I ordered a med. rare steak, and it came out absolutely perfect. I spoke to Mike (Owner/Manager?) to let him know how well his staff did for my dining experience. Tonights meal and experience was a 10/10

5 /5 Richmond BW “Bear Clan”: I was here a couple of weeks ago. I said Id be back. Bara, the hostess, remembered me. She welcomed me back with a smile. This time, Tina waited on me, Shawn thanked me for the nice review I wrote last time, Tina was a very attentive waitress. She was polite,happy, and with just the right amount of conversation. I had the all you can eat walli this time. Very good

3 /5 Susan Smith: Chicken was crispy and plentiful but lacked seasoning. We also got the salad bar but was to hard to get to the fixings in the back so everything was kind of falling into everything near it. Server was excellent. She was quick, witty and never missed a step. Plenty of room for our party.
