2 /5 mariah dunseth: I will say the two people that were there, were really nice. But it just felt like the place wasn’t clean, and I had to ask the lady a couple times to fix my nails because they were crooked. And they still are crooked. I just have to wait two weeks to get them fixed by someone else. And parts of my nail polish are see-through. I feel bad, but I won’t be returning.

1 /5 Tessa Bee: Took my daughter for her birthday and we ended up getting 3 sets done. There was only one worker. She was very rough with all three, and made one of us bleed. The first was a little girl, most of her nails were crooked and she changed up the colors that she wanted. 2nd was a teenager, she stopped in the middle to do someone elses nails. She was trying to talk her out of what she wanted, the charms fell off the next day, and the charms coming off messed up her design. Last was mine, and I went with basic nails after seeing her designs not being what Id like to pay 85+ for. All in all, I would not go back.

5 /5 Samantha Mercer: I got the lavender mani pedi. Walked in 20 minutes before closing, didnt realize it was so late. They happily stayed for me and didnt mention the fact that they were closing until I asked when. It was the BEST service and I cant wait to return.

1 /5 Adrien Bell: So my mom left a review recently and the lady has sent a response under that. I have cuts in my skin. I told her multiple times it hurt. She proceeded to go harder. Days later my skin still hurts. I expressed that I may be allergic to the glue, she proceeded to add more glue than necessary. As we speak, my mom is filing hers to be less crooked. Im filing the design off mine and painting it. 80$ each for us to end up this disappointed. And also, she did have the color the little girl wanted, my mom chose the polish herself. And nobody told us of this appointment. These people are super unprofessional. Dont go here.

1 /5 Ashley M: I called 3 weeks in advance to schedule a group appointment of 9 for my bachelorette trip... When we arrived, the 3 people working had no idea my group was coming in and was extremely unprepared for our group. I felt extremely bad because I knew they were overwhelmed. However, it does not excuse the fact that half my group only got a soak for their pedicure. No top coats, no cuticles pushed back, no nail trimming just a soak and polish. Moving onto the full-set application... There is not one Apex on my set so I have nails breaking left and right. Other people have lost almost all their nails because of how poor the application was. Luckily, this didnt ruin our trip but you really dropped the ball with this one and I hope you learn to better prepare yourselves for big groups/busy times.

Designing Image Salon - Morris Brandi Engwer: I was there for my daughter to have an updo for her prom at 9:30 am. We showed her a picture of what she was looking for. She said she could do it. After curling her hair she began the front top. I could see clearly she didn’t know how to do it. After she worked on it for a good 20 minutes, I could see her nervousness getting to her. I myself asked the girl next to her if she could help her out. Now mind you, this other girl had done 3 updos in an hour we were there. Prom was going on for 4 different schools that day. All the girl did was tell her what to do instead of physically helping her. By this time my daughters hair looked like a rats nest. It wasn’t anything like the picture. Another girl could hear my frustration and came over to help. Really not making it any better. We have been there for a hour and a half for an updo that should have taken no more then thirty minutes. Her hair was clean and dry, so nothing else had to be done. End result was an updo like no other. Clearly this girl was not experienced in updos. The top of her hair was flat and should have been up way higher. The curls were already falling out by the time she started the top. I even told her that her hair doesn’t hold curls well in the beginning. She said, “ I will spray it real good.” That didn’t happen. She had taken a piece of hair from the side to wrap around the ponytail she put in and it wasn’t even wrapped right. The hair was falling down the ponytail. I had enough and we paid and left. In the car my daughter was crying her eyes out. No time to go someplace else. She and I were so upset. This was Junior Prom, her first prom. I feel if someone is not experienced enough to be on her own, someone shouldn’t be right by her side who knows what to do. *** If you plan on going here, ask for the most experienced girl working. You might have a beautiful updo and be out in thirty minutes.*** We won’t be going back.

Polished Hair & Nails, Ltd. - Mt Morris LeAnn Richard: Ive been going here for a number of years and they are great. I get my nails done and get many compliments from people. I also get my hair done (color and cut), and I love it. The ear candling sure helps with my seasonal allergies! I usually go to Allison, but I started going to the shop when Sharon was the owner. They are both great and very knowledgeable. Ive seen the work the other ladies do, and they also take their time and do a great job! I highly recommend this shop for all your salon needs.

Shantels Salon and Day Spa - Morris Liz: My fiancée took me in as a sweet surprise. I wanted to get my hair done but had no idea what I actually wanted to do, just that I wanted something new and fun. Sarah did an incredible job talking me through everything and figuring out what would look good. I ended up deciding on blonde blended highlights and colored ends, plus a cut and styling. I definitely found my new stylist. I absolutely love how it turned out, and cant wait to come back to see Sarah again soon!

Sarahs Smokin Hott Nails,LLC - McLeansboro Abby Sutton: This lady is hands down the most amazing lady ever!!! She is truly a work of art. She makes your appointment go by so fast with the deep in depth conversations you interact with each other. We went in from out of town and she immediately got us in for an appointment. If you are in town GO TO HER!!! She’s absolutely amazing. I can’t express how loving and caring she was for just meeting her:))

Salon 6 - McLeansboro Ward Jacob: Went twice. First time I was told there would be a 30 minute wait, had no time, so that was on me I guess. The second time I wasnt even acknowledged when I walked in. Twenty minutes later, I walked out. Im not going back. Towns going downhill enough, now I have to stick to driving half an hour for a decent haircut.

Encore Beauty Boutique - McLeansboro Brittany Bowers: I recently went to Encore to have my hair cut and it was a great experience with Christina! I have thick hair and at the time it was almost waist length, Christina was able to give me a cut and style that is so much more manageable for my busy-mom life!! She took her time to make sure everything was perfect! The girls at Encore are all friendly, helpful and great stylists - I can’t wait to go back!!

Hair Razors Salon - Carthage Gresham Belinda “Phrenicglitter”: Nice little place, I was very comfortable. The stylist working there are nice, and they listened to what I wanted. My cut came out perfectly, best cut I’ve had in years! I highly recommend it!

Lake Hill Winery - Carthage Patrick Provart: As has been our habit for 17(!) years, we took a full day on a Saturday and visited a batch of Illinois Wineries in the same part of the state. Lake Hill was number 3 of 5 last Saturday . . . a return visit, since wed last been there in 2014. We arrived early afternoon and nearly had the place to ourselves. Rachel (one of the owners) was tending bar, and helped us through the samples. The wines were wonderful, but were not as good as the company. (And thats NOT a slam on the wine.) We bought a bottle of "Lincolns Noose." We PROMISE not to wait 9 years before our next visit. Rachel even took our picture before we left.

Ali & Co. Salon - Carthage Ashley Tanner: Wonderful salon with kind and helpful stylists! I always recommend Ali & Co. when family or friends are looking for a place to go. None have ever been disappointed!

Beauty Retreat Salon - Carthage Stephanie Hester: The best salon ever. I am so happy with my hair and the service , I love the color. Brooke is amazing. I will be back and get a mani-pedi next time.
