5 /5 Angela Coton: For years, I drove by the Dillon home, and never even knew that you could take a tour of it… I finally got the chance to do so a couple of weeks ago and I was totally amazed by not only the tour guide Candance and her knowledge but also the interior design, outfits from the time period, and cool wall coverings/furniture. It’s like taking a step back in time and there’s so much to see in every direction you look. I love the historical facts that Candance provided and my son absolutely loved going on the steam train out back. My only suggestion is that patrons be allowed to take photos as I think the photos themselves would bring people here in droves to see this place which should be a national monument if it isn’t already. What I wouldn’t give to attend a roaring 20s party here like I did at the Crane Estates in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
If you haven’t checked out this gem of historical amazingness in your backyard, I would highly recommend it! P.S. as a business owner, I realize the incredible expense of taking credit cards, so I was grateful that we only had to pay five dollars because I know that cost would have been more if credit card processing fees were involved.
