1 /5 Mcvay B: Bought my daughter her first car, a used little red Volvo. Upon purchasing the vehicle I took it to Floyd Imports for an inspection, they said it was “ a nice first car for her, and all it needed was some new brakes and shocks”. So I had the work done, then fast forward 3 weeks. The car won’t start one day, so we have it towed to Floyd’s. They tell me it is the starter, so I stop by when they first open to give them the cash for the work; that way my daughter can just come by later and pick it up without having to worry about payment or paperwork etc. I received a phone call around 4pm that day for them to tell me the motor was blown and the car was junk. So of course I’m upset, but more over extremely confused; because 3 weeks prior you said it was a nice car after inspection?..
They said those cars go out around that mileage, so if they knew that already, then why would they say it was nice ? And all it needed was brakes and shocks?? Because they wanted to make a few bucks off of my ignorance? Unacceptable. My daughter (17yo) loved that car and thought it was going to last, because the Floyd boys said it was a nice car. Lost $7k on that car, not included the “repair costs” I paid them, if they would’ve told me the truth I could’ve returned it. Won’t ever go hear again, or recommend.
