C&K Undercar Specialist - Sterling
Chelsea Kinnaman: Jim and his team are professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. All new brakes and rotors with a lifetime warranty. They were able to pick up and drop off my vehicle at home because I was unable to get a ride to and from the shop while the work was done. That helped me immensely because there are small children at home. Jim’s quote was spot on. My vehicle is driving like new. I will be a repeat customer if I need any other work done going forward. Thank you so much.
Mikes Auto Repair - Sterling
Lynnette Niemann: I just called to see if he could fix a bolt broken in my car where the back license plate is. He was really wishy, washy. I get when he said Ill have to look at it, but he said he would have it done the same day and said , " Ill see what I can do. Mmm, you either have drilled one out before, or you havent. I asked someone else who went to him and he puts off the work saying Ill look at it Ill look at it and hours later has no answer to whats wrong just says well it could be this or that. Did you even look at it?! Idk if he isnt confident enough or is too busy or if it doesnt sound like a job he wants to do. I went to Jeffs, and it was done in less than an hour.
Redline Auto Repair & Performance - Sterling
dan: I took my 1942 buick with a mild LS2 build in for a tune. They had great comunication via test through the entire process. Pictures, videos, messages showing progress. They identified a misalignment with my belt system and resolved the issue. The car runs absolutely amazing after the tune! They are very professional and clear about the work they are doing! Highly recomend!

Ginger Leigh: I moved here with a 20-year old suv, and I needed to find someone just like my mechanic in Chicago. A friend suggested I call Kevin. He did a thorough and fantastic job of inspecting Old Bessy. I dont know much about cars, but in my 35+ years of owning used ones, and hiring a legion of mechanics, I know enough to know a great mechanic when I meet one. Im so relieved to have this one. A real treasure in the Sauk Valley!

Cassi Tabor: We took our car to get the oil sensor and oil leak fixed. They charged us over $400 after replacing spark plugs that we didnt ask for. The oil is still leaking and the oil sensor still needs to be replaced. We got the car back in the shop (after a month of calling him) and when we got it back our cruise control doesnt work, oil is still leaking, another light popped up on the dash which is a red lightning bolt and oil sensor is still fried. Id give 0 stars if i could.

Vintage Mechanical Works - Sterling
Lucus Atherton: November 2023: This guy has had my Dads car for five years! My mother wanted to have the restoration done for his 70th birthday obviously that didn’t happen! Unfortunately my mother ended up passing the following year from an rare disease. Almost to the month a year after Ben picked it up. We gave him the go ahead to keep working on it in July of 2020 and here we are in October of 23 and it still just a painted shell. isn’t even a rolling chassis. No engine mounted, nothing! It probably wouldn’t be so bad if he was making progress but nothing new is done when we go check on it! My mom and dad pretty much financed his business through Covid and every other excuse he could come up with. We’re on the 3rd time he’s told us “It should be ready by driving season!” My dad will be 74 in February and it would be nice to have his car back and finished!! Pics are from when it was picked up in Nov of 2018 and about as far as Ben has gotten in 5 years!! Pure disheartening Disappointment!! P.s. I was even blocked from his Facebook account for questioning his performance! Truth hurts I guess… Update as of November 25th 2024. We’re now 6 years in and still no finished product. Rolling chassis but still no engine in car and upholstery is suppose to be done but not in car yet. Zero priority on this job! Ben told us that it may be running by Christmas. We would like to see it done by the end of January 2025 so we can have it back for Dads 75th in February. Fingers crossed but we still have no confidence that it will be.
CIT Trucks - Mount Sterling - Mt Sterling
Buzz: We have sent our trucks to lots of shops over the years. I think CIT has been the best. They are our 1st call when we have an issue. If they dont have the equipment for the repair, they have been great helping us get to right spot. I highly recommend them.
