5 /5 R. U. Lost 2: What a great park! Tis the season and nature is putting on quite a show! From the color in the leaves to the deer grazing in the opening. It’s hard to imagine a more enjoyable place to enjoy the changing seasons!

5 /5 AP: Nice, clean area to walk and hike around, but be aware as there is wildlife in the area, there is a park area in which the signs will lead you to, and an area where you can park, and there is also a restroom there, right of the Lincoln Parkway or Old Route 66 whatever you guys want to call it

1 /5 Sea Jay: Stingy management: vast area. Plenty of room to offer locals and travelers alike a few primitive camping sites. Aggressive Park security “and why should we do that? It’s privately funded!” Because it’s not a park destination if you can’t sleep over. Don’t you want tourism? Answers snidely “but thank you for coming” sarcasm. No facilities except a port-a-potty that needs servicing. Nice trail markers. Cool bridge. Beautiful nature. Grounds are well kept. Was crowded but no one lounging around. Lack of running water, bathrooms and resting benches at cause. No ADA access. Cat food left in many places for active feral population. Don’t let your dogs eat it!! Pick a different destination if you are traveling. Not worth the detour.

Ed Bailey: When I arrived, my car was the only car in the parking lot. SAD! This museum is exceptionally well done. The displays and immersive presentation highlight a life that was well lived because of devotion to principles that respect all human life as opposed to devotion to the love of wealth. The prevalent weeds growing through the cracks throughout the parking lot give evidence that the museum is largely being ignored by the American public. A National disgrace! If you care enough to gain inspiration from an exemplary life we all should emulate, visit this museum?

The Tropics Restaurant Neon Sign - Lincoln

Gary: Iconic Route 66 Tropics sign from the like named restaurant. The sign was restored a few years ago to the delight of many Route 66 fans and those who have passed by it for years. The restaurant opened in 1950 by Vince Schwenoba. Unfortunately, it closed for good in 2003. We had enjoyed stopping in and still miss it and the memories. After the restaurant was torn down I had worried what would happen to the sign. A few years ago, it was restored and in 2016 the Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame inducted the Tropics. If you are a Route 66 fan or vintage advertising collector, then this is a must see!

Dr. Mohammad Shamsuddoha: Pattern Park has gone through some wonderful renovations recently, and it really shows! The new walking trail is perfect for a peaceful stroll or light exercise. The dog park has also been updated, giving pets a more enjoyable and secure space to play. They’ve added a few fun features for kids too, making it a great spot for families. The environment is clean, green, and relaxing—perfect for spending your afternoons or evenings. On weekends, it’s an ideal picnic spot. There’s even a small lake where you can enjoy some casual fishing. The surrounding nature and peaceful atmosphere make it a lovely escape within town. It’s clear that the park district has invested time and resources to make Pattern Park more beautiful and family-friendly. There’s still a bit more to come, but even now, it’s a great place to unwind or bring friends and family. Looking forward to seeing how it continues to improve!

Samantha Campbell: This is a wonderful park. I especially love the walking path. It was very clean. There are several doggy bag stations and trash cans along the path, which I found very useful as a dog-owner. My husband and I were able to get in 3 miles on the path.
