And they get to dry off playing on swings or playground or simply running around. Theres a store right down the road and any restaurant give free ice water so Noone gets to hot and goes thirsty..

4 /5 Diane: We have been visiting this park weekly for dog training sessions. Its a happening little park as there is always lots of people there. There is just the right amount of space so we can all spread out and enjoy our activities. Some people use the pavilion for parties or to grill and entertain. Others are watching their children get wet in the splash pad area. Teenagers are playing basketball nearby. There are tennis courts to keep you busy. Just an all around nice park to be enjoyed by all ages.

People trash it weekly but the staff keeps up with the messes, the pickleball court is really popular here, there are people playing daily. The splash park is closed for the winter but everything else it running smoothly, definitely a good hangout spot. 9/10

4 /5 Ellet Erin (zocko): A nice park to run amok, especially for younger kiddos. The new splash pad they added was a big hit with my kiddos, definitely a nice addition! Just wish there were more trees!! It gets so toasty in the summer with the sun beating down on the slides, the only shade is the pavilion and thats a bit far from the slides if youre wanting to sit in the shade with a baby and watch your other kiddos play.

Dan Fossoy: We camped here the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Memorial Day in a tent. We used a site with an electrical hook-up, so we could air up our air mattress. The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed a fire Tuesday night. We covered the grated provided with aluminum foil and cooked smoked sausage. We brought our dog along. There were pit toilets, but no showerhouse. There were nice playgrounds and shelter houses in the campground and the picnic areas. There at least two boat ramps for launching motorboats and kayaks. Bank fishing was available at the picnic areas. I saw a fisherman catch a small bass from a boat. He said he had caught a bigger bass earlier that morning. I came back in the fall and the colors and scenery was awesome.

THIYAGARAAJAN VENKATAKRISHNAIAH: Nice place and well maintained. Volunteer and funds required to run the museum. Visit the place whenever you come to Mount Vernon and donate some funds. I also donated a few dollars.Appreciate the team who are maintaining. Its free and no entrance ticket.

Daniel McCoy: Beautiful artwork. Enjoyed this hidden gem hidden in Mt Vernon Illinois. The main gallery costs $5, but it is well worth the admission price. They also have a book of their collection available for $25. I purchased one and am enjoying the enriching additional information. They also have a walking path you can take to see many beautiful sculptures on your tour through the grounds with additional exhibits located in other buildings. Due to time constraints and my sister being in a wheelchair, we were limited to how much we could explore, but still enjoyed much they had to offer and enjoyed talking with museum staff about the history of the museum and their collection. I would highly recommend this activity for anyone who likes nature and art in general.

Grant Park - galena - Galena

Dave Cameron: This is a park right across the river from downtown Galena. You can get there via bridge over the river - or theres parking on the eastern side. Theres a hill from the main entrance on the east side of the river to get to the top - with great views of downtown Galena. This is such a nice park. There are paved walkways that take you through the park There are a number of benches various views. Theres a gazebo, a statue of Grant, historic cannons/howitzers, a water fountain, a playground for small kids, and a basketball court. Can be a good place to just relax.
