Lake Kubilius: A smaller but completely free art gallery. Nice space with some interesting items inside and a friendly staff in the little gift shop at the entry.
B A: The Burpee museum is a terrific natural science museum. Multiple floors of great exhibits and artifacts and galleries. The dinosaur collection they have is quite extensive and has many fascinating and rare pieces. I also really enjoyed the mineral/geology exhibit as well. The guy working here gave me a lot of great information on their dinosaur exhibit. Great museum overall to visit.
KB: Hi ! I just walked around the lake avoiding goose mines ;) and it was absolutely beautiful ! Lots of shade, a few well put benches and lots of birds singing. The orange blips in the lake are goldfish lol which I happen to love so thats why those pictures are there. Theres a beautiful walking path on the West side, the museum I have not ever visited but the water wheel house is open for a self guided tour and its very cool with its original, working set up in motion. Highly recommend.
STERLING YANA: Very cool interactive place of discovery for the little ones! There were so many different areas for the kids to explore. I love anything than can incorporate having fun while learning! Plenty parking, easy to get to, fair pricing for tickets. Definetely recommend!
Dorothy Loudon: I loved this museum!! The history on it is so interesting all the furnishings were owned by the Tinker family! It is so beautiful inside very nicely renovated and preserved.
If you r ever in Rockford, il. Look this place up you will be impressed.
Robert Alexander: Beautiful Japanese garden with plenty of walking trails. We enjoyed a solid hour of wandering the gardens enjoying the plantings. Since it was relatively early in the spring, there were lots of things just starting to flower. The map and guide provided detail where some of the featured plantings that will be coming into bloom are located. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch! We will be planning return trips to see the gardens during different seasons.
Catlyn: Great place to take the family from out of state. Went late April and still had plenty to see. All the trees had labels for identification as well.
B A: What a great city park! I only got to spend a little bit of time here. The park is huge. It encompasses many different great aspects like paved hiking paves, woods with lots of birds and other critters, pickleball courts, a bandshell for live music, large playground, and so much more. I wander around for a half hour and just scratched the surface.
Nancy Lange: It was so great that Frank Lloyd Wright designed this house to meet the needs of a person in a wheelchair (way before ADA compliant was even considered). We were thinking that we want to live there also. Wonderful experience was had by all on the tour.
Its Just Me: Toured the museum and Graham Ginestra home. Lovely chunk of Rockford history. The ethnic museum represented the heritage of early Settlers that immigrated here for business. The old maps and photos were very interesting. These are some of the people the built the industry that influenced our community. Very cool.
