5 /5 Linda Koepke Snell: Bible based worship, celebrates our Lord, welcomes all! For years
Provided signing for deaf.
Multiple worship services. Sundays and Wednesday evening @7.(2017) Bible classes for both adults & children to study Luthers Catechism including adult membership classes.
The congregation was Warm & Welcoming. They all invited me to come back to see if I found meaning in what was taught(Biblical teaching) was what I wanted to enhance my understanding & grow in the word!
Our congregation is fortunate and blessed to listen to the marvelous music on the piano & organ, presented by Milt Krieger with his supportive, sweet, wife Deb, who graciously supports his talent, giving him time, he constantly practices, helps pastor choose music, accompanies both choirs includibg the childrens programs. The music impresses me, both Mens choir, Parish choir, the "outstanding & impressive" childrens performances for the congregation, lead by Mary Beswick & the Sunday school teachers, bringing all ages together!
Multiple bible studies offered during the week...Tuesday afternoon, Thursday morning (topics may vary & are often selected by participants to provide specific direction).
Sunday morning classes consist of study of a specific book of the Bible or a Visual introduction, discussion & even travel through the Holy Land opening up The Gospels or a biblical topic of interest. Theres a more traditional or controversial topic lead by Pastor...or video with discussion lead by parish assistant or elder...often difficult to choose which one to attend! Bith interesting & conversational in nature.
Keeping in Gods word, the Bible, whenever possible enhances my Christian life & understanding!
I substitute for Sunday school class, during summer.
Ive been a chaperone & participant with some youth activities & at church picnics over the years. Enjoy watching the kids mature in their faith. Pastor has done a wide variety of projects with the youth tailored to the interest levels, abilities, needs & number of participants...
The Youth holiday program was phenomenal this year, pastor has presented child sermons, Pastor Mark provided signing, deaf ministery during our service here & in Elgin. Youth enjoy social activities, pizza parties, bowling & skiing.
In the past, weve had Super Bowl "family partys" with trivia games & prizes, food & BYO...in the community room!
Last year there was an incentive program (gift card) offered to youth who volunteered time to help the elders or shut-ins with fall clean up. I was too late to apply for help, not sure of the results?
Church members were chosen & volunteer by leading Bible study at Thomson Federal Penitentiary_ guided by Pastor Russell Helbig, member at church & Chaplain at the Prison.
