5 /5 Holly Harper: One of a kind place. 5 stars because at times it’s more of an art installation than a store and I really enjoyed that and want stores like this to thrive. Many of the vendors understood the assignment and have wonderfully staged booths. Lots of new stuff for gifts (meh, but I know you need to make $)and the usual booths that look like every item came from a thrift store. Huge variety of ephemera if you collage, scrapbook, planners, etc. they have done a stellar job creating an environment that is like nothing I’ve experienced in my antiquing. That said- it’s vintage and youthful. Far more 70’s, 80’s, 90’s leaning. I’m glad I made the drive to visit. However- I didn’t buy much. The pricing in a fair amount of booths I found to be above market pricing. I go to enough stores to have a good sense of what current values are. Hunting for vintage Christmas and found single Shiny Brites for $20 each. So that was really off putting to me and I found many booths to be overpriced. There’s a fine line between pricing vintage so it is profitable but not more than what it costs online. Big props for creating an amazing experience- I loved that. But I’m not sure I would make the drive again because of pricing. I can find most of those things in Chicagoland for less $.
