St. Jude Catholic Church, Peoria, IL - Peoria
Anne S: My husband was raised in this parish, and we always look forward to visiting it from out of town! I was very pleasantly surprised that confession was being offered prior to the 9 am Sunday Mass! Today they were also having coffee and doughnuts after Mass, and advertising an Advent Potluck happening in the near future. The homily was great, the music pieces were pleasing, and the sense of reverence and prayer was wonderful They are raising money now to build an excellent new church which will surely give Glory to Our Lord! Five stars for St. Jude! - Meredith Shane

Liezel Evans: Love this church, specially Pastor Mark and the people there, just so sad that we will be moving and cant go in there anymore. I never forget my experience in Livingwater.

St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church - Peoria
Douglas Coleman: This place is a God send. Paid for $100 gas for me after I got stranded in Peoria after being overcharged for work done on my vehicle. After being absolutely broke and having no friends or family being able to assist me, I felt hopeless. St. Vincent de Paul was the only place that helped. Made it home to Kansas City.
Church of Christ Northwest - Peoria
Vicki Doebelin: This church is getting away from the Bible. Its having women participate in the church services and they have an idol on stage.
City of Refuge Worship - Peoria
Annette: Have attended many years and would not think of leaving. The first church to teach the Bible not just preach the Word. Has a great vision for the community. Very welcoming and friendly.
Summit Point Church - East Peoria
J Carey: I go to get fed. The Summit Point leadership puts together a nice buffet. Starter/appetizer: Music worship is different than I grew up with, but after a few weeks one knows some songs. Its contemporary. Theyre seemingly passionate. I dont feel like Im learning a new song every week, but sometimes. Main course: Senior pastor Tim Harkness is generally serving up meat and potatoes. Tim is very personable and speaks very relationally. He is knowledgeable, and I feel like he is bringing Gods word, not his own. Ive been to a lot of churches, and primarily go for the teaching. I feel like the gospel of Jesus Christ is presented well. Often I feel like I learned something, not just like I had an emotional experience or an encounter with God. Dessert: They wrap with a song and a concise summary/dismissal statement. 9/10 times I feel well-fed. 10/10 times Im glad I went. Its a pretty big church, and staffed with imperfect people like the rest of us. But I think they do a very good job overall in their mission. The facility is comfortable. Logistics are good for its size. The service is not short or a ticket-puncher type. It isnt the same as your old church, whatever that was, but I recommend giving Summit Point a few weeks trial, if youre looking for a new home. My family and I are glad we did.
