Tried to ruin Christmas twice with the same transaction.
Dad wanted to get Mom a gift card for Christmas. Store let him write out a large check before they declined to take checks. Gift card was defective, PIN number couldnt be scratched off. Customer service thinks it will be a month before they can ship a replacement gift card. I advised Mom go back to the store and get a replacement there. Customer service line said that was a good plan. Mom called the store she was going to ,MULTIPLE TOWNS AWAY, to make sure they would replace the card. The local store said they would do that over the phone. Then she gets there and they refuse. Manager also refused. They also said there was nobody they could call to fix it. Somehow managed to get one ordered, but it took over an hour for the transaction to come through, fortunately they sent credit online and we dont have to wait a month like the 800 number told us.
