Shawnee Chief Motel - Shawneetown (IL)

1 /5 Equanimous R: This was the most disgusting room I’ve ever stayed in. Black mold in the shower, horrible odor, stains and hair on the sheets, broken furniture, dirty window unit air conditioning, way overpriced with cash only. I think I got bedbug bites. Stay 30 min away in Harrisburg.

1 /5 Tammy Gordy: Talked to lady on the phone told her we need it for a month. Was told 700 dollars and a 100 dollar non refundable pet deposit. Ok cool. We paid it price is high for just a small motel room. After that she says what about the 500 dollar non refundable deposit ? Wait what room deposit knowing we didnt have it. Had been living in our car for 2 weeks. Well she said go to Southern Illinois help center behind the motel. I did they said they cant pay it. I called and told her ,she said we have to be out by 11 am tomorrow morning. The State of Illinois has a law that non refundable deposit are not legal.. Our toilet kept clogging up trash in flower beds. Bed was broke door didnt lock on the inside. The freezer in dorm room refrigerator was froze over and couldnt defrost it. 4 tv chains no internet. Worse place Ive ever stayed at.

3 /5 john doyle: Karen said they had bed bugs, but we didnt have anything wrong, and I stayed last year in the sideways room. It ok for drinking the more jack you drink the nicer it is.

1 /5 OweTa HiHe: -10 stars! Dead bugs all over the floors, spiders in the bathroom, cobwebs everywhere, stains on the pillows, and BEDBUGS! After telling the owner all this they refused to give us a refund, we didnt even stay!

1 /5 Jennifer Bunch: Not even worth 1 star! 1st room we got the bed was completely broken! 2nd room made it 2 foot in the room and the floor had grass clippings everywhere. 3rd room we tried, the sheets and pillows had stains and hair on them. Floor hadnt been vacuum and the shower curtain was hanging by a few broken clips. Smelled horrible! Can NOT believe this place is even open for business. And I can normally sleep anywhere. This was disgusting! Very sad, Im sure it was a great place may years ago!
