Top Rated 15 University in Rockford, IL - A Smart Choice for the Future part 2

Lisa I completely do not recommend this school for their ultrasound Sonography program. 2 of the 3 teachers at this institution are extremely unprofessional and feels the need to cut down students when their having a bad day. The equipment is extremely outdated and the teachers will blame you if the equipment is broken (the previous head of the department early on in the program blamed me and another student for breaking a transducer even though we told her we never dropped it). From the last cohort Sept 2024, only 7 students of 21 students passed. The other students that did not pass the teachers told us to not come back (the president however told us we were welcome to retake the class but no one felt comfortable with the teachers). If you want to go into sonography, I recommend trying your local community college or going into another program at this college. In addition, this school is only accredited in abdomen, while most community colleges are accredited in abdomen and vascular. I will say the positive is the principal and VP are really nice and take your concerns very seriously. I also talked to a few admins and they were really kind and upset with what happened to our cohort. I think other programs at this school would be more professional and organized than what I dealt with.

Mike The staff do not value students at all. Staff doesnt take into account anything the student says and ignores their input, specifically in the surgical tech department. They are up for cash grabs. Dean is not professional what so ever, has a demeaning attitude and is very combative, they can not relate to students or care to get to know them, they often will try to pull one over on you without warning

Joe Buff Decent education but they had an activity where I had to chase down a runaway tire and it really hurt and I dont see the point in it

Josh Frank Rock Valley College is a great school! Campus is beautiful and accessible, professors are invested in the students and make class enjoyable. My experience here has been fantastic; I haven’t taken a class I’ve regretted.

Nicole Waldron Boss I was a part of the "Out of the Darkness" Community Walk to PREVENT Suicide hosted by the AFPS this past Saturday, September the 24th, 2022. It was an amazing experience I recomend it to any and everybody. It was a lovely event for a great cause and it was a beautiful day!!!

My brothers graduation day was supposed to be a moment of joy and celebration with my family—but the school closed the doors to guests just 15 minutes after the ceremony started. Families got turned away after years of support and sacrifice. This policy is unacceptable and needs to change. Graduation should be inclusive, not exclusive. Do better.

Kayla Faber I was part of the Business Management Associates program at Rasmussen University and have plans to continue forward towards my Bachelor’s. What has stood out to me during my time at Rasmussen, are the online resources provided such as the Student Library and the flexible tutoring options. Another positive are the instructors that were always thorough whenever I had questions or concerns. This made classes easier to navigate and I truly never felt lost during my courses. Lastly, I greatly appreciated the balance between work, school, and home life that I was able to manage by taking this online program. I look forward to my future with Rasmussen and could confidently recommend this University to others!

Joe Buff If youre going to college, this isnt a bad choice, but you can do better. Theres so much squandered potential, and I dont feel much of a community on campus. That, and calling it a university is misleading. It used to be Rockford College, until it added a Masters or two. The education is good, the campus is nice, and the staff are great. If you want that College experience then this isnt a bad spot, but dont just Settle for RU. Make sure its the right fit for you!

Amber Krause Two words come to mind when I think of Rockford University: opportunity and community. Faculty and staff go above and beyond to ensure that each student has access to success. A 10:1 student to faculty ratio makes this possible. I transferred to RU from an out of state school. I was immediately welcomed into a diverse community of people who truly cared for me. I may have never finished my bachelors degree if I did not attend Rockford University. So, thank you, RU!

Im able to graduate on time, my classes have been impactful, and being a student worker has helped broaden my professional experiences. Theres also a ton of student clubs and activities to join. I cant wait to continue coming here this Fall!

Wendy Banzhof I called the day before and was lucky enough to score a room here. I needed just a basic room for two people to do in person training. The price was cheaper than the horrible, noisy hotel conference room I have used in the past and more importantly the internet was blazing fast. The staff here are incredible and extremely friendly. If you need to host an event or meeting of any size I would absolutely recommend.

Renya Krempl We hosted our companys Staff in Service Day at this location. The Center staff, Bernie, Sandra and Brad, were extremely helpful, patient and accommodating throughout the process of planning the event. They were very helpful with crafting a menu that could accomodate many dietary restrictions as well. On the day of the event they were all there, making sure all went smoothly. We received great feedback from the participants who were happy with the food and the facilities. It is a very nice space, with a variety of rooms that fit our needs, all equipped with A/V equipment. The nice patio outside the atrium is a bonus. We were able to use it for some activities, due to warm weather. Highly recommended!

Ss N I would not recommend this school since they messed up on my grants loan didn’t say anything about it until after several months gone. Like how do you mess up on giving out grants and such. Then not say anything but wait until the student calls about classes to further the education and say well you can’t continue until you pay this back. You weren’t suppose to get that amount. Like wow!! Don’t do it and the amount they say I owe is like 4,000 on their error. If you do go to this school be careful with what they give you.

Orhan E One of the greatest business schools around! It has a Bloomberg Business Lab which provides the students with a great opportunity to follow the markets live.

Jon Schubert I transferred here from NIU. Much better student to faculty ratio. Its a small school but thats the advantage, in my opinion. Teachers care and know who you are. I learned alot. Thank you.

Located in a one floor building, it offers easy push button access and is very wheel chair friendly.
