Jeff Rebholz: The equipment is always clean and well maintained. I never speak with the staff but they seem to all be very nice. They have all the basics as far as equipment, I just wish they had a couple more benches. The building design is not the best and because of this certain parts can feel very crowded and limiting at times even without a lot of people in there. They do not have tanning or massage beds that many Anytime fitness facilities have.

Rachel Russell: My boyfriend and I were in town for a couple days visiting his family and we both like to climb, so we looked up First Ascent and went for a chill morning sesh. The facility was near the river front area in a cool warehouse district. The staff were friendly and we had the gym almost all to ourselves on a Tuesday morning. Although the bouldering area was on the smaller side, the routes were challenging enough to keep us entertained for about 2 hours. Overall, a good morning and I would go back next time were in town!

James: Since the new renter took over there has been no noticeable improvement to the health club’s condition. The equipment is outdated, often dirty, and in many cases, broken and unusable for extended periods. This has severely impacted our ability to maintain a consistent workout routine. The locker rooms are in a deplorable state and require thorough and regular cleaning. The closure of the pool and the permanent cancellation of several classes have further diminished the value of our memberships. Moreover, my wife has been approached multiple times in the parking lot by individuals looking into cars and soliciting money, which raises serious concerns about the safety and security of the premises. It is also disheartening to note that many staff members appear unhappy and have expressed intentions to seek employment elsewhere due to poor treatment. This atmosphere is far from the “premiere” health club experience that was promised under the new management. Peoria offers many superior health club alternatives that provide better facilities, security, and customer service.

Chris B: Pretty nice place to workout on off peak hours. Its pretty crowded during peak hours with groups of kids etc. Most people dont clean up their weights. Ive seen a couple bring their 3 kids under 5 after hours and let them run around using equipment. Couple days ago a group of 4-5 kids came in after hours (Def under 18) left all the equipment they were using on the lowest setting with all the weights on. Trucks constantly park in the no truck zone. Hopefully they change some things soon or Ill pay more for a better gym.

Jack Oliver: Hit my first workout this morning at Rivercity and it was absolutely phenomenal. The gym itself is really nice and is a good size space with solid equipment. The best part is the community and environment, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Jamie one of the owners was super nice and I will definitely be coming back to Rivercity to hit more and workouts!!
Farrells Extreme Bodyshaping - East Peoria
Madie Yanko: FXB has been so meaningful and impacted my life greatly! The people there are so kind and will help you learn moves, footwork, form etc. if you’re struggling without asking during class. For me this has been so uplifting to have people just being supportive from the get go without even knowing my name. The classes are fun and push you to what your limit is so you can continue to improve every time you step foot into Farrell’s. Love these people!
