What Clients Are Saying about Vernes Gaming Cafe (on GG)
5 /5 Krystal McHenry: Nice atmosphere and Kathy is a great bartender
4 /5 Hermann B (BH): Clean, friendly staff. The last time there, most machines were available for play. But like any other gaming establishment, its hit & miss depending on time of day. Did I share that the staff are friendly?! Small place but always a good time.
5 /5 Colleen Y: Cozy and relaxed environment! Lots of good games too!
5 /5 Marsha Touchette: Workers are always pleasant. And place is very clean.
5 /5 Linda Waller: Great place to play the machines and have a soda, wine or cocktail. The atmosphere is cozy and the employees a friendly.
Zach Gerrietts: Nice enough place I guess. The parking lot is a nightmare if there are more than a few cars there. It looks like it was decorated at the height of 2010, but, then again, most slot places usually do. They do not offer free snacks like most gaming places but they do have an actual menu with real food, however if you plan on ordering any make sure you brought or have access to enough cash to pay for it, as they only accept cash as payment for everything there. Their food is decent (at least from what Ive tried) BUT it tends to learn a tad bit overpriced, to extremely overpriced. They run out of several things on their menu frequently and never seem to be able to provide a solid answer as to when they will be getting said food back again. Also, the bartender/game area attendant is the cook as well, and they dont keep their fryers or ovens or something running unless its peak meal time so if you order something make sure you have time to wait, especially if the worker is busy or occupied by a different issue or customer. They did not have bottled water while I was there, I do not recall them ever having anything but tap water. There are probably 6 or 7 machines, It does feel a little cramped in there because the machines are all along one wall facing the same direction, the only other place I have seen this particular design has been inside gas stations like Thortons.
Cedrick Dockery: Always dirty.
Poor service; youre basically ignored until bells and whistles sound. Then a certain 1 of the attendants is sticking out an upturned sweaty palm.
They do not:
Clean the machines
Clean bathrooms
Greet your entrance
Clean the door
Vaccum the carpet
Care youre there unless you win.
And theres always a smell when certain individuals work.
I dont bash businesses. I fix them.
This one needs attentive management. And it can be fixed.
Nicole B.: I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and my friend ordered cod. All of the food was delicious. Great service. Pepsi products. Parking is limited to smaller vehicles.. So no semis or RV are able to park here. Unfortunately. I didnt get pictures of the food.
Ramon: Lets see today I put in 40 dollars hit twice during bomus spins and instead of going up went down til I lost all my money .only good bout this place is the workers and the gaming
Stacy Barnes: This is the best hotel and casino in the Midwest. It is superior to many of the Vegas casinos too. Hotel rooms are comfortable, classy, and well maintained. There are hundreds of different slot machines plus video poker, table games, a massive sports book, poker room, multiple restaurants, and bars. I do not recommend visiting on a Monday or Tuesday because nearly all restaurants are closed. Parking is free and -- best of all -- the entire complex is non-smoking except for one closed-off area.
Richard Hurley: Stayed here due to disability. Ease of parking and walking distance to casino games, no long hall, stairs or escalators. Problem was checking out. Needed a luggage rack to bring oxygen concentrator , portable oxygen and luggage down. None to be found. I called service desk she advised me to go from floor to floor look down halls for one. Still none to be found. It took me six trips up and down elevator while disabled husband waited in lobby. Then I got the car and make 6 trips from Lobby to car out front. I was exhausted and my husband was upset that he couldn’t help and it turned a great trip to disappointing one.
