2 /5 Vicky Zamora: Went with a group of six. We were all disappointed with the food. Asada too tough.”Homemade “ tortillas were not homemade. Very tough and oily. Crispy tacos were Taco Bell shells. Flan was hard and no taste. Only thing with good taste was the rice. We are all from out of town. Went there expecting really good Mexican food and left very disappointed. No plans to return.

5 /5 Romina Hogue: Fabulous staff. Fabulous food. Fabulous environment! I love coming here. Very authentic food made with care and shared with smiles. Food and drinks are delicious here. What a great place to spend time with friends, family, or self care! I love the tacos with corn tortilla, rice, and beans. The chips and salsa add the crunch. The fresh guacamole prepared at your table is amazing!

5 /5 Eat, Shop, Explore Illinois: Everything was fantastic! Chips and salsa were brought out first. The margaritas were a happy hour special and the chicken taco was one of the best Ive had in a while. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

5 /5 Michael Fisher: Really good food. The service was very attentive without being off-putting. I prefer dining in the upper level since the lower level is very loud. There are 3 tables outside and they fill up quickly. Like most Mexican restaurants they bring chips and salsa. The salsa was really good with a little heat. The chips were fine - nothing remarkable about those. My tacos came with a salsa that reminded me of Adobe that was a little sweet and a little spicy. It was very good.

5 /5 Logan Oltman: The life of the party is at El Jimador. The atmosphere is great! The food never disappoints. The drinks are amazing. When I want to go out and have a quality Mexican style meal. This is my go to. Only issue I’ve ever had is service could be better. Sometimes it takes a little too long to get your server to come back to your table. Especially when they are packed and when the drinks are flowing. It’s sometimes annoying. But besides that. Hard to beat the food and atmosphere alone. Prepare to spend though as it is by far not the cheapest option but, you get what you pay for.
