EL Patron Authentic Mexican Cuisine #1 - Jacksonville (IL)

4 /5 Phillip Lucas: This place has sube decent ambiance for being in a strip mall. There is no bar, but plenty of seating for the size of this town. Decided to do something different and order a small salad to start. Got the commentary chips and ordered a cerveza along with the Pollo Patron. Got the salad fairly quick, but no dressing. Wasn’t really a tossed salad either as the name implies. Asked for some dressing. Got my dinner before the dressing came out, not that big of a deal i guess. The plate was great. Cheesy sauce for all man. With the chorizo, onions, and some mushrooms. It made for a pretty tasty dish. The grilled chicken breast was on the bottom of it all. I made some small burritos out of them, along with the tortillas, and parts of my salad. Tomatoes and fresh onion mainly. I did get the dressing, but by this time, i ended up taking what was left with me. The only other thing i didn’t care for were the refried beans. Different flavor. I will try this place again.

5 /5 Andrew Lafferty: No exaggeration - best Mexican dish Ive ever had. I ordered the Pollo Hawaiian. The chicken is juicy and tender, the ham is flavorful, the chorizo has a great kick, the pineapple is fresh cut and sweet, and the cheese sauce that covers it all is some of the best Ive had. All together its a dish that has a depth of flavor you rarely get in Mexican restaurants. My wife ordered the Enchiladas Don Juan, and she really enjoyed hers as well.

2 /5 dezertgrunt: Called in an order. Got there and it wasnt even put in. Had to wait 10 15 min. Ordered the Fajitas Patron. Got back to my place (walked) and it was missing the rice and beans the menu stated its served with. Never again. Theyre friendly but I was disappointed.

1 /5 Kai Ley: I almost never write reviews, but I had a terrible experience here. The staff were rude, and when I paid with a card, they added a tip without my permission. This feels dishonest and unacceptable. If you don’t want to be overcharged or treated poorly, I would avoid this place.

5 /5 Jeff W: One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Jacksonville. The staff are friendly and get you what you need promptly. The food is great and always is top quality.
