2 /5 Fran Kinsey: We visit the Giant city usually a few times a year as a family for dinner at the lodge. The last couple of times we were there the food wasnt as good as it used to be. We were served family style, usually 21 or 22 people. We had a 1pm reservation at were seated about 130. Our server took our drink order and returned about 30 minutes later with drinks, he missed a few and had to return to the kitchen to retrieve them. We waited about another 20 min or so to receive our rolls (2 baskets) and a bowl of coleslaw that didnt stretch to feed the crew of 16. We waited for our server to return to get more and he didnt come back until he showed up with warm foods about 30 minutes later. 2 plates of chicken, 2 bowls of chicken and dumplings, a bowl of green beans and 2 bowls of corn. Still no more coleslaw and when we asked for refills on drinks and more food it was a struggle to get them. We never did get the coleslaw or veggies that we requested. He did bring out another plate of chicken and a bowl of corn and dumplings. None of which were full by any means, neither the original servings or the refills. Food was mediocre, borderline warm and not the good food or service that brought us to gather there originally. Very disappointed and prob wont return. We left unsatisfied. Im sure we will be able to find another restaurant that will not only be handle our family size but will be better food for the money and leaving full instead of wanting more. My husband and I paid for 10 of the meals and left 250+ dollars less in our pockets and do have any plans of returning. We used to look forward to these gatherings for great food, great service and warm atmosphere. So sad that it has gone downhill.
