5 /5 Benjamin Stout: Excellent Service. Simple, delicious food. The dishes were made with fresh ingredients and then prepared with excellent technique which allowed the flavors of the dishes to showcase themselves. This precision was revealed in all aspects of the experience. Even the iced tea was fresh, bright, crisp, and clearly made with care. Very satisfying without being heavy. But, honestly, even with that backdrop, those corn tortillas stole the show with effortless aplomb. Rich corn flavor. Served piping hot. Ah, but the texture…. the way they yield to the tooth... Listen- no joke-I have been an aficionado of Mexican cuisine for over thirty years now. I have been to countless restaurants serving Mexican cuisine stateside and abroad. I have eaten in fancier places with more dramatic food, but I have NEVER had better.

3 /5 Kristian Ording: I’d definitely recommend this spot for fresh, authentic and yummy Mexican food. Home made chips from quite thick tortillas were a little oily and not enough salt for me. Salsa definitely home made and very tomato forward and served warm. Hot sauce also homemade but also warm. Nice wide bar with number of seats up front and then an open seating area with mostly 4-top tables. Fun vibe with music playing. Really appreciated the mix of proteins as well as serving styles. The Vulcan and Quesadilla were my favorite. Happy hour deal was awesome - half price draft and also 3 tacos for $10 - essentially any style or protein. Will be back to try more!!

4 /5 Tamara Brandt: Second time here. Wanted to try the Mega Tlacoyo. Didn’t like it that much. The flavor was muddled. The meat was the strongest flavor and we didn’t like it. However, the smoked mezcal drink was fantastic! The chips and salsa and order of guacamole was excellent! The chicken and shrimp enchiladas were tasty too. Our server was kind! We will visit again when we are in town.

5 /5 Brock Bottcher: This place is great! The corn tortillas are organic and homemade with local corn. The presentation is great and service was awesome! Atmosphere is very nice too! It’s clean and has a nice outdoor space as well. Excellent food! Pictured is the chicken enchiladas with mole.

5 /5 Manil Trivedi: We were a family of 4, new to the area looking for something to eat. We decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. We usually get 3 entrees for 4 people, so we were very surprised to see how much food we ordered when it arrived. They only do one free round of chips and salsa, but honestly you don’t even need to fill up on chips because HALF an entree will fill you up. We added zucchini blossoms to the fajitas and enchilada, which added an interesting and unique flavor to it. Whether you’re a student of nearby University of Illinois or just visiting, I’d highly recommend this place!
