4 /5 Michael Gear: Its a nice little park with a disc golf course and some kind of fitness trail with exercise equipment along the route. Pretty well maintained, but keep an eye out so you dont get poison ivy. Fenced and divided dog park, and places for small humans as well.

5 /5 Keith Killinger: Very pleasant place. We were here to watch the eclipse. Lovely setting; spacious. Nice, shady (tall evergreen) groves where you can set up a camp chair and just read or enjoy the day. Lots of room for kids to run. Restrooms, shelters. Disc golf course. There were plenty of people there for the eclipse, yet FAR from crowded.

Santa Fe Park - Chillicothe

Audrey Elven: Great little place !!!! I gave 4 stars just because I feel like they did have a little bit of a Hornet problem the last time I was there but that’s just me being a little picky. My kids loved it! Nice little splash pad toddler playground and a nice playground for older kids with really tall (but safe) slides. Also have a baseball diamond and places to picnic

Peter Toth Indian Sculpture - Hopewell

Missus Brockett: Very cool! This statue is huge and amazing. Also, the view of the Illinois River Valley from the statue is beautiful and expansive. The drive up to the statue is winding and hilly but can be dangerous on a motorcycle. The statue has some woodpecker damage (?) it does need repairs at this time. It was a good a stop for a motorcycle ride.

Fort Massac State Park - Metropolis

Amber Coker: It was such a beautiful day for a stroll through this nice, well-maintained park. The river was pretty. You can go down to the river, nearby. There was a lot of space for the picture perfect picnic. The Fort lets you imagine what life used to be like, right there by the Ohio River, long ago. There is plenty of parking. Theres a boat ramp that leads you down to a boat dock. We saw many barges passing by. The park also has a Visitor Center. Where I parked was down closer to the boat ramp/dock area. If you park in this area, you will have to walk up a short, but steep path to reach the area of the Statue, wooden buildings, and informational posts. The river is so pretty from this point. Especially, if the sun is shining. I did not see a wheel chair ramp for the way I went up. Im sure the other turn in was for a direct pull in for the visitors center.

Shelley Iverson: Stopped by the World’s Largest Superman Statue in Metropolis, IL, and it did not disappoint! It’s such a fun and quirky roadside attraction—perfect for a quick stretch or some superhero selfies. The statue itself is impressive—towering over the town square with that iconic cape flying behind him. The area is super clean and well kept, and there’s even a little Superman museum and gift shop nearby if you’re into comic book history. Parking was easy, the vibe was cheerful, and it’s just one of those places that makes a road trip feel like an adventure. Totally worth a 15–30 minute stop if you’re passing through. Pro tip: Don’t miss the Lois Lane statue down the block!

Lois Lane Statue - Metropolis

Bradley Paluch: Drove down to visit the Lois Lane statue all the way from Chicago. Arrived with my cockpit and a camera to shoot various Superman themed landmarks around Metropolis. The Lois Lane statue has meaning in my family because my mother’s name is Lois. When she was younger she used to collect Superman comics to read about Lois Lane. I’m guessing my father was her Superman. Loved the statue but it took a second to find. Drove right past it the first time. Second time almost did the same thing. It is on the right of the street heading north away from the Superman statue.
