06-2025 Crown Fountain in Hight rate 15 location for tourist in Chicago, IL, USA (part 2)McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum - Chicago Joe YIN: I visited the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum around 10:00 AM, unsure if there would be a bridge lift event that day. Fortunately, Josh was incredibly helpful and explained that the bridge lift was likely to happen between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Thanks to his clear and thoughtful communication, I was able to return around noon and witness the fascinating bridge lift in person!
Inside the museum, there’s a great exhibit that explains the mechanics behind the bridge and offers rich insight into its history and cultural significance. I especially appreciated the short “intel” session before the event, which included a sound signal (a ring) that helped me anticipate the exact moment to start taking photos.
Overall, I highly recommend the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum. Josh’s outstanding communication made my visit truly memorable. Thanks again, Josh!
Chicagohenge - Chicago Rogue Critic: Came back home to finally see one of my favorite things. The Sun.
This Sun was so different. I watched it bring people to together for 30 min. In a city known for quite the opposite most of the time. Or is that the outside of the house perspective?
No matter, everyone’s faces were lit up together.
This was such an easy experience to capture. Everyone got the chance to with ease.
Basically pick a street: Adams, Madison, Randolph, Washington, Kinzie.
Hope many more get to see this forever momento at least once!
Here’s a photo I captured.
The Museum Campus - Chicago omer yavuz: The Field Museum is absolutely worth visiting! It’s incredibly large and detailed, with each section beautifully organized and easy to navigate without getting lost. There are plenty of resting areas throughout the museum, which makes the experience more comfortable. The general admission ticket is enough to see a lot, but exploring the entire museum in one day is nearly impossible—it’s that big! The exhibits are exceptionally well presented, and the interactive experience zones are fantastic. Highly recommended!
Wrigley Square - Chicago Anthony Schmitz: Perfect place for a picnic or just relaxing on the grass and enjoying the beautiful city view.
Centennial Wheel - KD: The Centennial Wheel in Chicago is such a fun experience! I visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised that there was no line. The ride was smooth and relaxing, and once you reach the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking. You get a stunning overlook of the harbor and the city skyline — it’s like a postcard come to life.
It’s a great way to take in the sights and enjoy a unique perspective of Chicago. Definitely recommend adding this to your list when visiting Navy Pier!
4-D Experiences - Chicago Mushir Ahmed Basheer: They have to improve check in process. Online barcodes have to be converted to paper tickets before entering the show. Went for octopus, it was okay.
Architecture River Tour - Chicago Sri Y: The Chicago Architecture Boat Tour is a must-do experience. I highly recommend opting for the 90-minute tour over the 45-minute version, as it offers a more comprehensive view of the city’s iconic skyline, historic buildings, and rich architectural history along the river.
If your schedule allows, take the tour twice for contrasting experiences. First, during the summer in the late afternoon or early evening to enjoy the warm breeze and golden-hour lighting. Then again in October or November during the evening, when you can witness the city beautifully illuminated against the night sky and enjoy the crisp autumn air.
Each season and time of day offers a unique perspective, making both rides memorable in different ways. Booking in advance is also wise, especially during peak seasons.
Northerly Island Park - Chicago Jett Tyler: Whilst this place is a great part of Chicago to come to if you want to get away from the hustle of the city, its a pretty cool place to visit if you are into Aviation History and the chance to come visit the site of Meigs Field Airport, which was the default airport for the Microsoft Flight Simulator games from the 1990s & 2000s!
It was pretty cool to come and visit these old Airport Buildings from its Airfield days, and getting a chance to see the real part of something I spent hours playing on as a child growing up!
American Writers Museum - Chicago Maryam: I spent more than an hour here, and yet there are still things I didn’t get to explore. What a great museum for everyone to learn more about their favorite books and writers! Children can have a lot of fun in the children’s book room, but adults can also enjoy the interactive environment designed to engage with every writer’s life. You can learn about each American writers across all states. Fell free to study your state!
Finally, you’ll be able to create your own bookmark with your favorite books, and last but not least, you can become a writer and use an old typewriter to write like one! A must-visit when you’re in Chicago.
Pritzker Park - Chicago TennantsofMarqueeatBlock37: We have had 14 different reports from concerned tennants. Reports of: Robbery, threats, sex solicitation, drug solicitation, gang activity, drug dealing, intimidation, drug use, littering, loitering. And as others have mentioned there are Chicago Police parked right there doing absolutely nothing to enforce the law. This place is named after the governor, next to the library and university, with tourists and Chicagoans everywhere. What an utter embarrassment! This is what people see when they come to downtown Chicago! It just confirms everything that people here and see in the news about Chicago. How can the city and the police just let something so crazy go on and do nothing about it?
