Historical Society of Quincy & Adams County - Quincy

Michael McEwen: A fantastic local history museum. The displays are very interesting with lots of great stories. They also have a large collection of architectural elements from buildings that were torn down. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Cairo Custom House Museum - Cairo

Jake Allgeier: Really excellent experience learning about Cairo. The tour guide volunteer was fantastic, very friendly, honest, and taught us a lot. They deserve more visitors than they get!

Fort Defiance State Park - Cairo

Anita Stephens: We stopped by this park on the way back to Tennessee. The history here in Southern Illinois is so rich. Unfortunately, the week before our visit, the entire area was hit with a lot of rain. So much rain that the park was closed. It was under water. We still took pictures and made the best of it. It’s an injustice that the state of Illinois won’t put in the money to restore the park area.

Bruce K.: Im sad that I was here on a Sunday afternoon and did not have a chance to properly tour the interior of this beautiful home. Its clear that this is a leftover from better days in Cairo, a city that has fallen into deep disrepair like a shopping mall with no tenants. The outside is stunning with well kept grounds including the small gazebo and the brick paths. Even if its closed for the day, its still well worth a good walk around.

Eric Hollywood: The wife and I will make 3 years I. A row coming to the Spring Fling Festival this Saturday. Awesome BBQ at the event, many vendors set up selling about anything you can think off. Then the Tractors on display as well as the old shop/store.

De Moulin Museum - Greenville
