5 /5 Daria Kurovskaya: DuSable Bridge is one of the best spots to stop and take in the city. The views are amazing; especially on a sunny day when the river turns this bright greenish-blue color. You can watch boats pass under the bridge, from little kayaks to big architecture tour boats. Right around the bridge, there’s some of Chicago’s most famous buildings. The Wrigley Building looks super classic with its white exterior and big clock, and across from it is the Tribune Tower with its unique old-school design. If you look down the river, you’ll also see the shiny Trump Tower. It’s a great place to pause, take some photos, and just enjoy the view. Easy to get to and worth a quick stop if you’re walking along Michigan Avenue or the Riverwalk.

Daria Kurovskaya: Polk Bros Park is a peaceful, beautiful spot right by the water. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk or just sitting by the lake and enjoying the view. There are plenty of picnic areas, open green spaces, and some really lovely sculptures scattered around the park that add a nice artistic touch. It is a great place to unwind, especially if you’re near Navy Pier. Definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic break in the city.

Beth J Pulido: Ive been twice already and I plan to go again after the summer. This maze-like wonderland is great for adults and kids. I went for the first time with my husband this past March and again with my niece and sister when they were visiting in town last month. Whether youre a tourist or have simply have never been I assure youd enjoy yourself here. This place is perfect to embrace your inner child and just have fun. The only recommendation I will adhere to is to self advocate when you need to use the restroom. Not every staff member is equally considerate or mindful of each guest. Nonetheless, I do plan to visit again with more of my family and friends in the future.

Scott Wood: Absolutely a beautiful park. Play area for little kids up to big kids pickleball courts a basketball court.

Heath Museum & Confectionery - Robinson

RVTravelers Voice: Heath Museum When in Robinson, you have to visit this quaint little shop, even if just to get some very fresh Heath bars. Be advised that they are only open 11-2 during the weekdays. The shop has a good bit of Heath memorabilia and historical displays. There are plenty of fresh Heath bars for purchase, including bulk, un-wrapped bars. The staff was helpful and friendly, too!

Washington Park - robinson - Robinson

Teresa Goines: We had a lot of fun here. Some of the best ideas and thoughts put into this park. There was also a small golf course with Frisbee golf.

Ellwood House Museum - DeKalb

IThoughtof Googleplexfirst: Live using the Elwood house as a place to photograph, or as backdrop. Ellwood, Glidden, and a 3rd party, invented barb wire in the 1800s. It was the first Mansion built in Dekalb at that time. There is the Mansion, tour, carriage house, grain silo, dollhouse built for the children and a new museum to tour. Dont miss out!

Wetzel Park - Sycamore

Amanda Peck: Great little playground. Perfect for little kids. The playground is in great almost new condition. They have a sand area with one digger, 6 swings, basketball, tennis court and baseball diamond. Lots of open grass area and a place to play Corn hole! There is also a port a potty on site!

J. F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center - DeKalb

M A: Such a fun place of history! I had no idea there were so many different varieties of barbed wire. Learning about the history is fascinating & the house is really neat. So many different historical items - a mustache cup, handmade elegant clothing, lots of original family history. The staff & volunteers were wonderful as well.

P.A. Nehring Forest Preserve - DeKalb

Sarah Tobias: Im so excited! I havent walked at Nehring since the Spring. I went over to catch the fall colors and to my surprise, the County FP department has cleared new paths. Its wonderful. I love this little park. A Storm several years ago felled tons of trees and paths were closed off, but now they are open.
