Andrea K: What a great little gem of a museum. Its definitely worth the visit before the new museum is built! The mansion is beautiful, and a lot of original pieces and Italian fireplaces are still there. All the exhibits show so much detail about Galena and its history and, of course, the former president. The tour is self guided besides the first introductory presentation by one of the staff. They let you take all the photos and videos you want also. There is also a little gift shop, and its $15 per adult.
Kris Escalante: This is an absolutely beautiful location and I found that it was so serene. The view of the Mississippi is incredible and the walking paths are very nicely done. I was there in March so I cant wait to see this location when all the wild flowers and native plants return. I dont have a dog, but it seems like it would be a dog friendly hiking area. We couldnt take our eyes off of the Mississippi and it was near sunset when we were there so it made it even more beautiful.
Roze Anne: This was most interesting and informative blacksmith tour that we have ever been on. Rich was so friendly taking the time to show us in detail how a hook was made. Would definitely recommend and don’t be shy to ask any questions! All the blacksmiths were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Kris Escalante: The Galena Center for the Arts is an integral part of the Galena community giving the residents and tourists s chance to check out the frequent art shows (there are new shows every few months) and to attend a small playhouse to view interesting performances. There is a gift shop with beautiful pieces and art for sale that is displayed on the walls of the museum. I love the Broad Ideas program that happens yearly and is such a female positive and overall empowering program.
S M: Facility was easy to get to, new and clean. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The equipment was well maintained and there was a thorough safety explanation. Aiden took us on the course, we were able to go on whatever rope lines we felt like. Highly recommend!
J. V. Rychman: What a surprise. This is a tourist town. When I walked in I thought it was a store with neat stuff.....but no....it is a museum with exhibits on tour.
I have no idea what they will have when you stop in.
Tell them Joe sent you...they will say Joe who...thats me...
Carolyn Chiu: We really enjoyed visiting this park. The play area has great climbing opportunities, along with an outdoor music area and a stone "waterfall/creek" and splash pad. The butterfly house was a beautiful and fun experience and the staff was very kind. There are trails, through the wild flowers and pond.
