5 /5 T RS: Very informative and educative museum. It exhibits the National and local historical and community events. A description of the local individuals and the community involvement in every national event is very special and is positively connecting the local community of today’s generation. It’s relatively a good size museum which has many themes. One will learn the overall history since from the first migration to this town and also the contribution of the local community in the local and in the national levels. Don’t miss the governor’s mansion and and one room school, just outside the main museum building, to get the feeling of our past history. The friendly and knowledgeable staff can provide more insights and to answer any questions. Enough car parking places are available at the site.

5 /5 Rebecca PIERCE: Beautiful place. Lots of little photographer spots. Obstacle course/ physical fitness course is basic but a pretty walking path. Events year round. Worth checking out

5 /5 Wandering Nature Lover: The Kankakee County Museum is an amazing gem. Its a must visit for new and longtime area residents. I recommend it for all ages. Interesting local and war history. The museum is clean and the exhibits are nice with some interactive places. A small gift shop is located here as well. Theres also a one room schoolhouse and Dr. Smalls house on the property. Behind the museum is a cute little trail for exercise. Last, but definitely not least - the staff are very friendly and caring.

5 /5 Rose Bailey: This is a beautiful gem of Kankakee County. Hidden in the picturesque trees in Governor Small Park, this place is worth a visit. The Rhubarb Fest takes place here, but arrive early, before the rhubarb pie is sold out!

5 /5 Melanie Holmes: Stepping into the K3 Co Museum is like stepping back in time. We know theres both good and bad in history, and I love how this museum combines exhibits that educate, entertain, and shed a light on what used to be inhabited by the Potawatomi, then the "settlers," and then the railroad paved the way for actual villages and communities (and Kankakee as the county seat). Be sure to take in the spectacular Barnard sculpture exhibit. And walk through their gardens. For some local offerings of art, stop into their gift shop. Support local!
