5 /5 Casper Ghostie: Fabulous place for camping. There are at least four major camp grounds on different sides of the lake. Camp grounds have flush toilets, shower houses, campsites with and without electrical hookups for RVS, a dump station for dumping RV waste water tanks, playgrounds for children. Many campsites are right along the lake shore so you can access the lake by a very short walk from your campsite. The lake is a great place for fishing or recreational boating and water skiing.

Asterix: I went to this museum for a school observation project. The people working there are super nice and enjoyable to be around. One man was very kind and showed us his Ford Pickup Truck!! I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

St. Clair County Historical Society - Belleville

Sean Hall: The museum is a Victorian era home with a great collection of items that show the rich history of Belleville. The museum is free with donations accepted. Pick up a great book like the one we did as another good way to contribute. The museum has volunteers and a curator on location to answer questions.

Miscellaneous Muzik: The Freeport Art Museum was a great place to explore a variety of works, including paintings and sculptures from across many cultures. Its truly a beautiful place to experience some wonderful, amazing art pieces! The museum is the perfect size to spend some time, just enjoying some great art. The museum employees were all professional, amazingly polite, and knew exactly what they were talking about. I highly recommend this hidden gem for any art enthusiast!

Oakdale Nature Preserve - Freeport

Eric Wellman: Always a Must-Visit as well if your wanting some fresh air or knowledge of the area! We grew up going going on field trips here even...granted, its has definitely improved over the years! You can find a nice peaceful trail to go for a walk on...or even just find one of multiple spots that you can get out, stretch your legs, or even just visit if you need some quiet time to think! I was very impressed with the newer restrooms they have installed...and even added some shelter, along with a fire pit and a play ares for the kids! I will always visit this peaceful little place, Highly recommend!

Read Park - Freeport

Eric Wellman: Read Park has always been a Must-Visit growing up around here. It offers anything from some Relaxation, to visiting the pool...or even stopping down for a baseball game! They also offer a Skate Park, Tennis courts, Basketball Courts and a Volleyball Court over near the pool side of the Park! Highly recommend these nice little town parks...Usually very Peaceful!

Lincoln-Douglas Debate Square - Freeport

Kevin Werner: If in the area, it is a nice little park with life size statues. The Little Giant was really short. They have a few information boards about this debate, and its importance for the Freeport Doctrine.

Silver Creek Museum - Freeport

Rick Jones: From the outside youd never guess how much is inside. We especially enjoyed the local manufacturing rooms. We went for the Thresheree. Bonus! We got to see the huge steam engines and tractors.
