  • What Clients Are Saying about Mineral Springs Park (on GG)
5 /5 Verthosand Photography: Amazing place to be able to take your kids or a daily walk. There are several things to do at this park. You can watch a baseball game. You can rent a paddle boat which looks like a dragon. There is a playground area that is just for the younger kids. There is a very large walking path that you can walk around the pond.
5 /5 Morgan White: Overall s really great scenic park. Theres something for everyone there. You can jog or leisurely walk the lagoon, fish, take your kids to the playground, have a picnic, or hold an event in the building there. I often take family photos and portraits there and just love it.
5 /5 Deannea: I love the pond, the people, the views, and the SWINGS. This is my favorite park in the area because I can sit on a swing, read a book, enjoy the breeze, have conversations with friendly people, and enjoy the water all in one trip. It just brightens my day to see people fishing also.
5 /5 Tiffany S.: Kids loved this park! They are now just anticipating the opening of the paddle boats!
5 /5 Brian Hintz: Great space for dog walking. Some things to engage sense of smell. It was very quiet and peaceful early in the morning. There is also a nice size dog park if u want to go off leash. Restrooms are closed in fall and winter.

Troy Smith: My son and I go camping in Southern Illinois every year and always try to pick new areas. This was our first time at Trail of Tears, we didnt get to hike and explore as much as we normally do, because I currently have a broken foot. But we did enjoy our time at the campground. We rented campsite N1 which was perfect for us, because we like to hammock camp. Campsites were very good sized and spaced out nicely!

Sherri White: Wow, what a great experience. Loved our visit. I have been seeing this park a lot on Facebook and wanted to visit. We visited on a Friday morning, and it was perfect. The area has had a good amount of rain recently, so the park had loads of water moving, waterfalls, and streams. The trails are wide, which was very nice. Low number of other visitors. It was a very peaceful and pleasant day. I would definitely return. We had been told that its also beautiful in the winter, so we will be checking that out.

Lisa McCrea: This was an easy, short trail. Nice rock formations. A couple of places looked available for more "off the beaten path" hiking. Went with a group of kids, so didnt get to really take an extended amount of time exploring the area. Worth it!

Nikol Richards: They have actual veterans who give you tours. There is something more personal and more meaningful when you have someone who not only has studied war history, but also lived it! It took us about 1 1/2 hours, but we enjoyed every second of it.

Danielle Cozzola: I typically rate parks at 5 stars when I can, but this park seemed poorly managed. Garbage could be seen throughout my drive, and the sign postings were small and hard to read. I dont mind having to deal with bugs when adventuring out in the wild, BUT there were millions of GIANT horse flies here. I thought they were cicadas at first, that is how large they were. They were flying around my car and running into it during my entire drive through the park, so I didnt end up getting out of my car. It was disappointing. I dont know how they can fix this issue, but I dont think I could visit again without the fear of being attacked by these flies. It was like nothing Id ever experienced before!
