5 /5 All About The Doodles: I can’t say enough about how nice of an experience I had. Like most, I was so anxious about going to the periodontist. I guess it’s the fear of the unknown. Upon arriving at the office, I was greeted by the nicest two woman that could tell I was nervous. They explained that Doctor Blaha will not let me feel any discomfort. When I brought to the private room, the assistants explained everything. Then the doctor came and took so much time explaining what he is looking at and what course of action he recommends. No reason to look anywhere else, this place is heaven. Thank you so much. ❤️

2 /5 Colleen Rittmeyer: My son had a couple procedures done by Dr. Blaha. The first one went fine. The doctor is a bit brusque, but competent. The second one, however...my son told the doctor that he was in pain, and was brushed off and told he was imagining the pain, and it was just pressure. So my son had to sit through the whole procedure of having his palette cut open and a skin piece grafted on his gums while being able to feel the whole thing.

My comparison includes periodontists from three continents, Europe, Asia, and across the United States, including specialists at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Blaha stands out not only for his brilliance and technical skill but also for his rare compassion. I have dealt with serious periodontal issues for four decades and, due to past traumatic experiences, I have an exceptionally low tolerance for dental pain. Routine cleanings by ordinary hygienists or periodontists are simply not an option for me. Dr. Blaha, however, has always shown deep sensitivity to my emotional and physical responses, and his care has been nothing short of extraordinary. Even after relocating to Chicago 19 years ago and later to Evanston, I’ve remained his patient, driving 60 to 75 miles each way every three months. That decision speaks volumes. I’m not an easy patient: I went to medical school, I’m a scholar who values intellectual rigor, and I’m a perfectionist who rarely places full trust in medical professionals. Yet, I trust Dr. Blaha wholeheartedly—for his expertise, professionalism, compassion, and unwavering ethical integrity.
