1 /5 Stephanie Roger: I’ve been going to this salon on and off for years, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning—and I feel it’s important to share why.
Each time I’ve been serviced by Lisa, there’s been a consistent pattern of rudeness and hostility whenever I’ve voiced a concern or asked for a correction. I stopped seeing her in the past for this exact reason. After a long break, I gave it another shot. This was my third appointment back, and once again, the same issues resurfaced.
During this visit, I politely asked for a nail to be redone because it was visibly crooked and couldn’t be fixed with filing. Lisa immediately got defensive, insisted nothing was wrong, and only agreed to redo it after I firmly pushed back. Throughout the appointment, she was aggressively handling my hands and even hit my hand hard with the brush while dusting off my nails. The entire interaction felt tense and uncomfortable—completely opposite of what a self-care experience should be.
What made this even more disappointing is that I have always been respectful and tipped well, even in the past when I felt uncomfortable. I don’t come in with an attitude. I communicate calmly, and I expect to be treated with the same courtesy I extend. But instead, it feels like any feedback is met with hostility—and it makes the entire experience stressful.
To make matters worse, the quality of the work didn’t even justify the discomfort. My polish was applied sloppily, and the cat eye design was poorly executed, with all the lines pulled in the same direction. It lacked any creativity or care.
Before I left, I told Lisa directly why I wouldn’t be back. She quickly said “sorry,” but this is a pattern, not a one-time bad day. I left with nails I don’t even like and the emotional residue of feeling disrespected in a space that’s supposed to feel safe and enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a nail tech who listens, treats you with dignity, and values your comfort—I would recommend booking with someone else. I’m now searching for a new salon where I can spend my money and time without having to fight to be treated decently.
