Kankakee Currency Exchange - Kankakee Andrew Pasko: I asked to send USD cash to a bank in Mexico. They provided a list of banks I could send money to. I selected one of the banks on the list and sent money to my friend. They said the money would be available in their account in 10 minutes and they charged me $10 to send the money.
Days later the money still hadnt arrived. I called their support number and it turns out what they sold me is a Moneygram transfer that can only be picked up at a Moneygram location. They provided a different service than what they told me they were giving me. They said it would go directly into the recipients bank account and it did not. It turns out that to make it deposit into my friends bank would cost more because the receiving bank will charge a transaction fee. Doing the "Moneygram transfer" is the cheaper way to send money.
All of the advertised prices in the attached picture are for money order services, not the "Moneygram transfer" which is a different type of order.
Changed from 1 of 5 stars to 4 of 5 stars because the business owner explained how the transfers work.
