LadyFi Had a oil change here last year and didnt know until this year that my oil wasnt changed, just the filter! oil was very black like molasses, and while there I asked Tom Tom to drive my van to see if he heard the noise anybody can clearly hear when my car was on he said he didnt hear a thing but told me my car was raggedy! long story short I was ripped off! Never again!

Taliyah Murray Went here to get my radiator hose fixed they put it on wrong and it caused my engine to over heat causing me to blow a head gasket now I have to pay more over a simple fix!

Tom Huber Went in for an oil change, rotation and general checkup. Had to replace brakes with 95k. The job was able to be done that day. Bill and Kevin are honest and friendly. Its a great place to service a vehicle.

Greg Crowley My Volvo had a failing serpentine belt. I talked to the owner who has experience changing the belts. He was not able to work on the car this week but next and highlighted the key drop service. The next day my wife and I nervously drove the car to the shop hoping the belt would survive the trip and used the key drop. An hour later, I received a voicemail from the owner saying I could not keep the car at the shop lot due to expected snow and interfering with his plowing service. I was flabbergasted and worried all day that the failing belt may not make another drive and I could lose the engine. I would not wish the stress I endured that day on anyone. Luckily the car made it to another auto shop.

I cannot begin to tell you how great it has been to work with Phillips Automotive. They are expert, highly capable, and absolutely trustworthy. Its really beside the point that they happen to be really good people but...they are! I cannot recommend them any more highly.

Kylah Blackburn This might be a little lengthy, but I promise its worth reading if you havent made up your mind on where to bring your car. I dont have enough positive things to say about my experience with this garage. Theyve worked on my vehicle twice in a period of less than 30 days, and the customer service was BEYOND anything I couldve hoped for. My father was the family mechanic for a very long time before he passed away in 2023. As I was leaving his funeral, a deer completely totaled the front end of my Acura, and I scrambled to find a car after that, because I needed to get to my college graduation down in TN. Fast forward almost 2 years later (itll be 2 years this December) Ive had NOTHING but problems with my replacement 2013 Cadillac. Ive put more into maintenance and overhaul on this car than I spent on the down payment for it. The first time I brought my car to Zach, he treated me very kindly and had the patience of a saint while explaining everything that they could see was wrong with my car. After the estimate, they honored a military discount to help me out and I couldnt have asked for better service. Then two weeks later, my car died, and I panicked. Bob took the time to listen to me, Zach gave him insight to the work they had just done for me, and the mechanic (bill) even offered to take me home so that I didnt have to walk home in the heat. After helping me out in the best way possible, my car is back to running (better than it did before!!) and I can truly say that these guys have me as a customer for the rest of the time that I live here in Illinois. Thank you all so much!

Then they confirmed my truck warranty. I had to pay my deductible.Warranty paid the Balance of. The Bii. Got me back on the road to go home. North Carolina.

Thomas Johnson Very good service. The initial interaction with the gentleman when I dropped and requested additional service to be completed, was a bit strange as he asked me why I want my cabin filter changed. I was there an oil and oil filter change. So I was thrilled about that, but upon my return to pick up my vehicle, I was very pleased with the interaction of the gentleman that was finishing the transaction and updates to what had been found and provided with a time line to address a few things before it gets late into the season. Which was very helpful. Much better customer service experience at pickup.

Luke Brandemuehl I have been traveling across the country; a man, his dog and a van … I ended up temporarily held up in Rockford IL, and the van was not running well. I brought it in for a diagnostic; after I got the estimate, we checked several other places, and ultimately Firestone’s pricing was very good … but the biggest reason I came back, was because of their CS. They were open, honest and had the most friendly demeanor … my dog and I were welcomed into the shop, for the entire day’s repair … we were extremely grateful to be treated so well while on the road in a foreign state. I Highly recommend this location for a vehicle work (oil to engine to all else involved).

Douglas Tracy Carl is one of the most honest people I have ever met in my life. He is a straight shooter, and a Christian. He does a very professional job, and hes a man of integrity... If you want a mechanic that takes pride in his work and gives a honest price and a fair price then Carls Auto repair will be your go-to mechanic as it has been for me for years!!!

Jennifer Oleary Carl is great at what he does and hes very honest. He has helped me get my car back on the road at an affordable price more than once! Hes very knowledgeable and does a great job of getting to the root of the problem. I highly recommend him.

Mike Outdoors I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Nate and Neil were fantastic to work with and did an amazing job finding me the correct aluminum radiator for my antique car. They kept me informed on progress and parts decisions. I would like to give the credit deserved to Trevor who performed the installation. He went above and beyond and completed a professional job that exceeded my expectations. The installation looks and performs like it should. Fair price and highly recommend them for your auto needs.

alucardforever2001 This place screwed up my transmission and my truck got vandalized on their property and they didnt make a police report and my tools was stolen, they charged me $100 for a new torque converter and $450 for labor got it back and not even 5 days after it was done I now have No OD, D, 2, 1. and to make matters worse they drove my truck to AutoZone while it was leaking trans fluid from the bell housing and they put the wrong transmission fluid that it takes Mercon 5 and put Dex/ Merc 3 and told me that 3 black guys broke into my truck and broke my ignition and I saw it there with a witness and Im going to take them to court for a lawsuit and not reporting to Authorities from the time it happened... Miguel Llanitos worked on my truck and had my truck outside the gate when it was vandalized and tools stolen from truck...on top of that they said it will get fixed and tools or money reimbursed and I got nothing .. Someone is fully responsible and Im not taking a loss from No insurance cause it wasnt in an accident and yes they will be served by Sheriff and brought up on charges. ... I called the Rockford police if there was a report for address 1231 S.Main St, and no such report was made and I wasnt very happy to see my steering column apart and put a different ignition tumbler and the key isnt to OEM specs ..also when they put my driveshaft back it wasnt balanced and now I have no truck for my business ...

Ron Bell Used them twice so far and will continue. Had two diagnostic tests done for my own piece of mind. They assured me everything was fine and good, and it was. They didnt charge for things my old truck didnt need. Friendly people and got me in very quickly. Thanks guys.

April Roxtar Ive brought my van here twice in the last year, and these guys are awesome! Highly recommend! Thanks again for all you do! Had more work done here, and my almost 20 yr old car now feels like Im driving a cloud. They took it in for grinding brakes, broken wipers, leaky gaskets, and suspicious suspension and returned to me a smooth sailing ship, ready for summer adventures.

Hell have your car done the same day for most work and Ive never had any problems from his services since 2016. Oh! The prices are the best by far better than any other competitor in the local area.
