5 /5 Will Giblin: I have run here many times. This is a hidden gem in the Champaign-Urbana area. I was on the cross country team and we would ways run here while out and about. It was always clean and it was always close to a Porta John somewhere which is nice. There is a 9 mile loop you can connect with this that we made up by running around the streets of Champaign and Urbana.

Enjoyed watching the geese swimming in the ponds and the spring flowers along the way. One large pound has benches and picnic tables. Highly recommend Boulware Trail for a family adventure.

5 /5 Aaron Kinskey: I use the Boulware Trail almost every day to get to work. It is well-maintained and provides a pleasant way to get from the neighborhood between Kirby and Devonshire to Fox Drive as well as Mattis Park. I only wish it was a longer trail or connected with a more pedestrian-friendly route across Neil.

Christian County Historical Society & Museum - Taylorville

Patricia Doerr: Lots of fun. Our host was very knowledgeable of Christian County. This is a must-see for all Abe Lincoln fans. The museum and The Last Stop statue made a great afternoon. Donations accepted for upkeep and education of the county.

Michael Straith: Signal is hard to get here, but other than that, this is a gem of a campground. We stayed in the Hickory Point campground, which is the one with the shower house. The camp was very helpful, and ice and firewood are available near check-in. Seems as if every site has a view of the water, so bring your poles if youre an angler. Its only a 30-minute drive to Springfield if you want a great variety of restaurants and a trove of Lincoln sites and activities to explore.

Giant Hand with Painted Nails - Pana

Maureen VanBrooker: Our GPS took us on a backroad by Pana, Il. We were slowly and randomly driving and watching for deer, which were pretty thick and all of the sudden, I was like... What!?! Someone severed off a giants hand and put it here in the middle of nowhere?!? My husband said, Thats cool. Then as we got closer, we saw the red fingernails on the hand and the hand holding the world, the red justin boot, the stick with the corvette, a random scoreboard. All those put together kind of took away the creepiness of the hands themselves just laying there. What a weird crazy thing to see out of nowhere lol. Thanks to whoever owns them.

The guided tour was both engaging and highly informative, providing fascinating details about Abraham Lincoln’s life before he became president. The tour guides were knowledgeable and passionate, making history come alive as they walked us through the beautifully preserved home. One of the best parts? The tour is completely free, which makes it a fantastic stop for history lovers of all ages. Just keep in mind that while the tour doesn’t cost anything, you will need to pay for parking nearby. If you’re ever in Springfield, this is an absolute must-visit. It’s a wonderful opportunity to step back in time and see where Lincoln lived while shaping his remarkable legacy!

World’s Largest Gavel - Marshall

Candace Bui-Walston: This is in the city hall and such a unique thing to see. Moreover, there was a little veteran memorial thing outside the city hall. I would recommend you to visit Marshall and see the Gavel and learn a little about the town. We learned that there were different lions status all around town, and they were sponsored by local businesses and decorated by high school graduates. Each year, the graduates get to decorate a lion.
