Verthosand Photography: Amazing place to be able to take your kids or a daily walk. There are several things to do at this park. You can watch a baseball game. You can rent a paddle boat which looks like a dragon. There is a playground area that is just for the younger kids. There is a very large walking path that you can walk around the pond.

Brian Hintz: Great walking experience for you and your dog. There are open fields as well as wooded trails. It is quiet and has very little traffic coming in and out. Be advised that if you are taking your dog, this is a deer haven. We have been able to get with 100 feet, and they stare at you. So, if your pet is highly excitable, this could be an issue. There is no water available. So bring some for your dogs. It has a large frisbee golf course as well. As well as picnic tables and fire pits.

Troy Smith: My son and I go camping in Southern Illinois every year and always try to pick new areas. This was our first time at Trail of Tears, we didnt get to hike and explore as much as we normally do, because I currently have a broken foot. But we did enjoy our time at the campground. We rented campsite N1 which was perfect for us, because we like to hammock camp. Campsites were very good sized and spaced out nicely!

Sherri White: Wow, what a great experience. Loved our visit. I have been seeing this park a lot on Facebook and wanted to visit. We visited on a Friday morning, and it was perfect. The area has had a good amount of rain recently, so the park had loads of water moving, waterfalls, and streams. The trails are wide, which was very nice. Low number of other visitors. It was a very peaceful and pleasant day. I would definitely return. We had been told that its also beautiful in the winter, so we will be checking that out.

Lisa McCrea: This was an easy, short trail. Nice rock formations. A couple of places looked available for more "off the beaten path" hiking. Went with a group of kids, so didnt get to really take an extended amount of time exploring the area. Worth it!

Nikol Richards: They have actual veterans who give you tours. There is something more personal and more meaningful when you have someone who not only has studied war history, but also lived it! It took us about 1 1/2 hours, but we enjoyed every second of it.
