I followed Brittanie from her previous location and she is amazing. Most recently I have been letting her pick colors for me and it has been the best experience. I have gotten to try so many new looks.
Meta Beauty Collective - Rockford Kat Kibben: Derek gave me the best cut of my life. Im a trans and non-binary person with curly hair. Going to a salon is not something I look forward to, but I was losing hair in some spots after taking T. That haircut Ive had since my 20s wasnt working anymore. I sent some pictures
and Derek did an incredible job. He deeply listened to all the little worries, never misgendered me, and took the time to let me just relax. I never felt rushed or like he was trying to get me out of the chair like I do at the barber shop.
It was gender-affirming in every way.
Plus, theres little affirmations all over the salon to remind you it is a safe place for the LGBT+ community. Even gender neutral pricing and bathrooms. Ill be back a hundred more times.
