5 /5 Kat Kibben: Derek gave me the best cut of my life. Im a trans and non-binary person with curly hair. Going to a salon is not something I look forward to, but I was losing hair in some spots after taking T. That haircut Ive had since my 20s wasnt working anymore. I sent some pictures and Derek did an incredible job. He deeply listened to all the little worries, never misgendered me, and took the time to let me just relax. I never felt rushed or like he was trying to get me out of the chair like I do at the barber shop. It was gender-affirming in every way. Plus, theres little affirmations all over the salon to remind you it is a safe place for the LGBT+ community. Even gender neutral pricing and bathrooms. Ill be back a hundred more times.

5 /5 Dane: I first went to Meta a few days before my first time being in a wedding party. It had been years since my last haircut, but Derek quickly eased my nerves. He wasnt bluffing when he said he was good at making haircuts look "lived in"; my new hairstyle looked as though it was one Id always had. He worked well with my hair type that many others had botched, and made good on his promise to give me something easy to style that would grow out well over time. Derek is very good at meeting you at your level. I show up to every appointment not knowing how to describe what I want and I always leave with what I wanted.

5 /5 Britta Engels: Personally I have social anxiety and anxiety about getting my haircut. Sabrina always makes me feel comfortable and she makes sure to make you feel welcome and accepted. The staff is just as accommodating. I seriously cannot go anywhere else. Love this salon!

I had a great experience working with Derek, they were super knowledgeable about working with very curly hair, and they made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire experience by explaining everything in depth before doing it. Will be going back for my next curly cut!

WILLOW BEAUTY CENTER - Rockford Janna Fuller: My niece recommended Tarah to me. My hair was waist length and I wanted a change. Tarah listened and I got the cut and style I wanted, even if it took 2 visits. She didnt charge me for the second visit because it was within a few days. The salon is very clean and well kept. Highly recommend!

I was so impressed with her that I booked hair services. Arabella did such an incredible job on hair that now the whole family uses her. Everyone is fun and welcoming. Im horrible at explaining what I want but she does a great job bleaching/coloring my hair so it grows out nicely and looks more natural. The salon is super clean and a wonderful environment to be in while youre there. I always feel greatly taken care of while Im here and love the small touches (available snacks/drinks, and extra toiletries in the bathroom if you need it).

(We are originally from Chicago) .. I drove pass this salon one day and saw a woman doing hair. I pulled into the parking lot and run in to grab a business card . She was extremely professional and I figured I would give her a try. What the heck right? I scheduled an appointment that week. She did not disappoint . Needless to say , this is our second visit and we will continue coming back. Im happy . My daughter is happy and I no longer need to make the drive to Chicago just for a hair appointment . I highly recommend. Jeanine is wonderful . Professional, friendly, polite and makes you feel comfortable . Pleasant staff and atmosphere .

Salon 3 one 3 & Boutique - Rockford J Califf: Teresa is the best! She is kind and very knowledgeable with her stylings. Her recommendations on what I come to her with to do to my hair are better than my ideas. Shes been flexible with my schedule, and sends me a reminder of our appointment! I so appreciate that! The salon is very tidy and it feels comfortable to be there. I even saw another stylist work her magic on her client. Wow! It was beautiful!!!
